Q: Has this product changed? I ordered what’s pictured, but it arrived with “new” printed on the box and no longer says “Glide threader floss” just “threader floss.” It’s also made of cotton like fibers that look like they’ll snag on my wire! Very annoying!

A: Exactly what I found. Wish I would’ve read this before I purchased. The packaging is nice with a colored threader on each end and multiple contained in each envelope. But the floss itself snags and makes fingernails on chalkboard sounds and feels terrible between my teeth.

I used the original for years because it’s the only thing that worked around my implants without snagging and shredding. This stuff is a nightmare. It got caught and I had to use tweezers to get it out more than once. And I swear some got stuck and I ended up with soreness until it worked its way out. IMO it is not a safe product.

It had higher ratings for the PREVIOUS style of flossing but they have changed it sometime in August 2024. Now the new flossing is completely useless. There are no good reviews since August 20th…therefore, it tack the version onto the previous ratings are MISLEADING! Shame on you Oral B.

The old product was much better.
I want the old product back. The one with the 30 individual packs in the box. I don't like the way these feel and I don't think they clean in between my teeth as well as the previous product. Please bring back the old product!!!

Like fossing your teeth with yarn
I would give this product a zero star if I could. I have been using the glide threader floss for years & loved it because it gets between my permanent retainer & was packed perfectly. I bought the "new" floss recently & much to my dismay it is absolutely 100% terrible. I cannot imagine why they would have replaced the old version with this substandard product. Its like flossing your teeth with yarn. First it is difficult to get between your teeth & when you finally manage to force it through, it shreds & breaks apart between your teeth leaving you to either put up with pieces of floss hanging between your teeth or using tweezers to pull out the shredded pieces. If this is the manufacturer's idea of a new & improved product then I would not like to see the ones that did not make the cut. Dont waste your money on this garbage. I am terribly dissatisfied. Note to manufacturer...yarn cannot be used to floss teeth much less get between dental appliances, so stop packaging yarn and selling it as detal floss.

I agree with the other reviewers. I want the old product back. This works fine for my bridges but I can't get it between the rest of my teeth and when I do, it shreds. I will not buy this again. Guess I'll just go back to regular floss and the old fashioned threaders. I just liked the convenience of the old product

Absolutely awful now since they had to go and change the type of floss they use. Please go back to what it originally was I can’t even use the new kind to get between my teeth.

Inferior Product
This floss does not clean properly because the floss is too thick. I got a gum infection after using this floss because it hurt my gums. I had used the thin Oral B threader for over 6 years. I hope that they make the good floss again. The thin floss was great!

New formula is absolutely horrible. Nobody cares that you changed the packaging—we care that you made a fabulous product unusable with a subpar formula. It's too thick for floss, so I repurposed it
The old threader floss stood up well to my dental work and did not shred. I bought the new version because I thought that only the packaging was changed to use less paper. When I opened the box, took out the first packet, and opened it, I saw that the new floss had hard plastic tips and and was so thick that I did not want to try putting it between my teeth at the risk of dislodging any fillings or crowns. I could not return what I opened, so I kept the box.Sometime later when I needed thick beading thread to make bracelets, I tried the remaining floss strands for that. They held up well so far.

Product changed, not happy with new product
This product recenly changed from a piece of normal glide floss attached to a threader. The new product is super floss and it shreds and catches on teeth. I do the ordering for the dental office I work at, we will not be ordering this product anymore.

ORAL-B, PLEASE GO BACK TO OLD PRODUCTS
Oral B changed all of their floss products around May 2025. I used their Glide regular floss and the Super Floss for my permanent retainer. These products are now useless. The "glide" floss is now a plastic square edged material that breaks in between my teeth and doesn't remove any plaque. The threader and the super floss used to have a sturdy smooth end that easily went between teeth and under braces, retainers, etc. Now that threader is a piece of cotton string that is frayed at the end, defeating the whole point of using it to wedge between teeth. Oral B, why even make products if they are going to be as useless as this??? Do not waste your money on ANY of their products, I had to throw mine away because they really were that bad.
