My niece and nephew introduced us to Osmo and my 6yo son absolutely loved the pizza game! We ended up getting the Genius Starter to help him with his visual learning skills. The Tangram game is perfect for this and he is already getting the hang of it after a few games! The spelling is really great too as he is beginning to learn how to read in Kindergarten.

First, you must remove any protective cover from your iPad so that it will fit in the stand. Next, be prepared to have to download all the games, one by one, that your kit has. They will prompt for for game extension that cost an additional $59. Finally, the game does not read the tiles that are placed in front of it all the time, so your kid will sit there waiting or think that they are incorrect. My child kept making 4 but it would display 7, 9, 15, etc. I used these in my classroom a few years ago and thought it to be really a hassle for the simplest of tasks. I gave it another try for my own kid thinking maybe it would be better, but that was not the case. There are many other things out there that are cheaper, more user friendly, and do a better job. I do not recommend this product.

Recently purchased for my daughter for Christmas. Between all the different versions I spent over $200. That’s not including the new iPad Air I got her. My daughter was very disappointed Christmas morning when we realized the system was “out of date”, and I needed to purchase a different reflector for the thing to even work. Not only that, anytime in the future she’d have to take the otter box case off EVERYTIME so it would fit in the base. Still not sure if I want to return it all.

Pro: -Hours of truly educational play -Love the hands on, tangible play aspect -Cute stackable storage containers Cons: -Expensive (wait for a sale!) -The ‘Words’ game seems to give randomized words; it would be more valuable if it followed a Phonics based sequence

My son is 5.5 yo and at first it was hard for him but once he understood the objectives of the games he quickly picked it up and loves it. He even uses it with his tutor as a supplemental to keep on track with his development during pandemic. He will play with them for a long time and forget about his breaks because he is having so much fun with it. I feel like it was completely worth the money. His tutor that is a second grade teacher was impressed and looking into it for her own classroom.

I bought this for my preschool aged son who turned 5 in March and he loves it! He is really enjoying the math and spelling activities and games. The levels of difficulty keep him engaged and challenged while continuing to learn while playing. We have been home alone since the shut down in March and wish I would have bought Osmo sooner! He can work independently while mommy does her work from home! I love that he uses his hands and not just tapping and swiping on a screen. I feel that the interactive manipulative pieces set Osmo apart from other tech activities for kids. The shapes on Tangram and the different visual challenges are so fun! There are only 7 shapes that make up over 500 image puzzles! He was like, "mom, I never knew you could do so much with so little!" What a revelation for a 5 year old! He already has a wish list going for the other sets.

This is such an amazing learning tool. My son just feels like he is doing games, but he is truly learning. I am so impressed with the technology. He is having to add, spell, critically think through and problem solve. I am an elementary teacher juggling homeschooling and Distance Learning for my own class and this has been a LIFE SAVER!

This osmo genius starter kit is more than just a game. My toddler has been learning a lot from this, i am so impressed how my son now know his shapes and some and letters. When he sees some toys he tells me the shape of it and now he counts how many toys he has overall he has been learning a lot and interacts more with older kids [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I gave this a lot of time before writing the few as I wanted my son to get some experience with it before reviewing. I must say, he had a lot of fun with it. The base is good and the reflector works well. Apps are well designed and he was a self starter on it all (huge bonus). The only thing is that it didn't have a whole lot of sticking power. The pieces and the reflecting mirror do need to stay together. So, make sure you keep that in a bag or a bin to keep it all together. Also, do keep in mind the case you have your iPad in. We had to remove his frequently. Otherwise, great stuff. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
