In the early 1900s, the Metaxa distillery was in Piraeus and, like other distilleries of the time, created different styles of alcoholic drinks. Among them, the most popular Greek aperitif: Ouzo. OUZO by METAXA is based on the original recipe of that time, which includes different aromatic seeds of the Mediterranean basin and the rare mastic of Chios island

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This liqueur has a very distinct black licorice flavor to it. It is different and bold, but smooth, as well. I enjoyed it mixed with fruit juices. Great for the summer months.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I love the anise flavor of Ouzo. It’s not sweet and that’s exactly what we like about it. It is very delicious has a nice licorice taste and is very smooth. I definitely recommend it, if you like to drink and trying out new flavors.

Anise can be a very hit or miss flavor and it is quite strong in this, however, this was sweet enough to be drinkable and is especially good with some fruit juice as a mixed drink! Reminds me of absinthe but much easier (for me, at least) to drink.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve never had such a thing like this before! Thanks to Influenster I saved me some money and practically got it half off. The fact that it has Greek In the name I feel that it makes it more special. The aroma is as you would think it would be. This is a lovely, nice and fun drink to have anytime! Especially with the spring now and summer coming up it would be amazing to have this drink on the rocks, outdoors on a pool party type of day!
