Q: Do you have to hang this mirror over the door? Are the hooks detachable?
A: We hung 2 on the wall and unfortunately, they out quite a bit at the bottom. I have not figured out how to secure the bottom against the wall so it does not stick out.
submitted byHills - 2 years agoA: Absolute nightmare to hang on the wall. Terrible design for anything but over the door hanging. I’m returning it after putting multiple holes in my wall, and still being unable to mount it.

Q: Hello, does the over-the-door hook come attached to the mirror or does it require to be installed?
A: In case anyone was still wondering, no the hooks are not attached to the mirror. You don’t need tools to install them, they just slide into notches on the back of the mirror.

A: Hello Kara - If screwing into a stud, you'll only need a 1¼-inch screw or 1⅝-inch screw for secure mounting through ½-inch drywall. If you're hanging a heavy mirror on drywall without the support of a stud, you need drywall anchors that can bear the weight of your mirror. - Theresa

Q: Hi - is the black metal a shiny black or matte black?
A: It’s definitely not glossy but also not quite matte. Kind of like eggshell (or maybe satin?) wall paint. A little bit of a sheen to it but I wouldn’t call it shiny.

Q: I know this mirror is intended to hang over a door. But if I wanted to install it into a wall does it have the necessary hardware for that purpose? Thanks.

A: I just purchased it and you can hang it horizontally. It does come with screws and plastic anchors, in addition to the over the door brackets.

Q: Is it hard to shut the door after installing the mirror over the door?
A: Hi there and thank you for your inquiry. The OTD hooks are designed to fit most standard doors. The small gap between the door and jamb allows the door to close smoothly with the hook in place. Hope this is helpful!
