This mirror is definitely an elevated version of the over-the-door mirror and it looks much nicer (trendier); however, my mirror came with one of the over-the-door hooks actually being backwards (the metal was bent wrong) and my husband had to use pliers to carefully fix it, but in the process, the brass paint came off to reveal a dark grey metal underneath. We were bummed at this price point for the product to be such low quality that we would need to fix it so it could do what we needed it to do.
I got this because it was cute and I wanted to hang it on the door instead of using nails in a rental apartment, but the door hangers were too big for my door, which was within the range it said it would fit. It wobbled too much and I couldn't close the door if it wasn't hanging a certain way. the top of the mirror also came chipped and the whole thing is a bit warped. I'm keeping because it's cute and I can cover up the chip using gold paint since it's small, and I plan on using a bunch of 3m Command hanging strips instead of the door hangers, but I'm disappointed in the quality and probably wouldn't have gotten it if I had seen it in the store first.
I wanted a pretty bathroom mirror, but it's cheaply made. Both the frame and mirror are bowed, which distorts the image. A mirror should be manufactured on something rigid enough so it doesn't flex. I can actually push on this mirror to flatten it out. I should have returned it right away.
I've had my eye on this mirror for probably about a year now and finally pulled the trigger when it was on sale. It looks just like the pictures, so not much to say there. If you think it's cute online, you'll be happy in person!
It's simple for a typically-abled person to hang--the hooks just slide on to the mirror, no tools needed, and it's not very heavy so it was easy for me to get on to my door. It's also really sturdy. I know this because I was carrying it home on the subway and accidentally hit it with the subway turnstile (aka a fast moving rod of metal). Stupid mistake but it came away unscathed.
The only thing that I'd ding it for is that it tends to move a bit away from the door when I'm opening and closing it. I'm going to get some putty or command strips to secure the bottom, but this isn't a big enough nuisance for me to give it a full star off.
This is a beautiful mirror! I love the clean, simple design. I think it may be a little overpriced. However, it is very sturdy and seems to be of good quality. You are also able to hang the mirror horizontally on a wall if you want. All the hardware is provided.
