Bought it in April 2024 and haven't used it that many times. The yellow plastic around it is cracked and starting to flake off. Going back to microplane for graters.

Great if you like plastic in your food
I love the larger size and that it comes with a cover. And that’s it. It has orange plastic trim that started cracking off in small pieces within a couple months. And it happened when I was shredding cheddar so the small pieces got mixed in with the cheese and was discovered after my daughter bit into a piece. Within several months, almost all of the trim was gone and the metal flexed without the support. I threw it out and replaced it with a Microplane shredder and it’s MUCH more durable. I’m a big fan of OXO brand but this item just isn’t it.

Works with hardest of cheeses best.
Semi soft or middle of the road cheeses dont work well with these little grates. I will be purchaing the other one they have for those cheeses. Works great for hard cheeses like parmesean and romero.

This grater was advertised as good for hard cheese, but my result was a cloud-like pile of cheese that was not what I needed. It might be okay for chocolate, but not for cheese. I’ll need to choose a different grater

a good grater , only used it once, but worked well, OXO is, in general, a decent quality product, my father bought a pizza cutter several years ago, and still have it, and it is still a good cutter, haven't had grater too long, but it has worked fine.

It's Grate!
In between a micro plane and a grater. I personally love how the fine texture it produces. I use almost daily for garlic or citrus zest, but would use for cheese, especially hard cheeses like Parmesan, too. Always clean immediately after use.

Too fine for grating
Love the durability of OXO products, so went for this grater when my old one broke. I definitely find this product to be more of a “zester” than a grater. I’ve been using for fresh mozzarella and it shreds so finely, the cheese is basically translucent and melting as soon as I pinch it up in my fingers. It’s also too narrow for even a small block of cheese to fit across for grating, I just keep having to rotate the cheese block to kind of make it fit and work.
