Grate the cheese you need and save the rest for later with the OXO SoftWorks Seal & Store Rotary Grater. Simply insert whole cheese, chocolate or nuts, close the barrel and turn the comfortable non-slip knob. Grate with the cap on to collect ingredients before serving, or slide the cap to remove it and grate directly onto a dish. An interior silicone seal keeps cheese from drying out, so you can leave it inside the BPA-free Grater when you're finished. The knob adjusts to accommodate both right- and left-handed users. Dishwasher safe.

A: That wasn't much of an explanation from Arielle. No duh take it apart. I felt like a caveman trying to take this apart. Took forever.
The handle you turn to grate the cheese screws off. Try to keep the inner cylinder still somehow without cutting up your hand and turn the handle counter clock wise. Handle should come off, allowing the inner cylinder to slide off. Voila.

Worst cheese grater ever
Worst cheese grater ever and a waste of money. Cheese clogs, handle comes off, leftover cheese in the top where you load it. Finally gave up and got rid of it.

Useless- all the cheese stays in the middle of the grater so you have to use a knife to get it out. It’s plastic so the cheese isn’t grating much/ should be metal. Since I already opened it and used it I couldn’t return it so threw it in the trash!

Poorly designed
I made sure that the cheese fit without needing to be jammed in, I held the handle securely…but realized that not only does it not want to push the cheese down well enough to consistently get a good grate, but I can only really hold it one way because otherwise my hand prevents the handle from turning. The site says it can easily be used with either hand but it’s just not designed that way. Not a fan, wish I could return but packaging is long gone.

Hard to clean, and shattered after two years
This worked ok for about two years, until the hand crank twisted right off and shattered the threaded plastic post. Up until then it worked but it was very hard to clean. Won't buy again.
