Q: I do not have a dishwasher to clean this chopper. How difficult is it to get the blades cleaned after use in a regular dishpan?

You can carefully hand wash this part with a sponge or dish rag. If there is a build up of food on the blades, you can let the blade soak prior to hand washing or use the sprayer hose to help remove food that is stuck on.

A: Hello! In the product photos above, there is a photo showing the Food Chopper when it is fully disassembled. The blade cover and blade are able to be detached for cleaning, as well as the clear chopper cup and base. This item is dishwasher safe on the top-rack.

I bought this to replace the one i had owned for so many years that it was falling apart. It is the perfect thing for chopping a small amount of nuts or the like. I love that all the parts are dishwasher safe.

For two months I put off buying this chopper because of the bad reviews. Then I started thinking about one I had for years tntil it broke ND it had been okay. I bought this one by OXO and it is great. First you can take it apart to clean it and for those with a dishwasher, this one is dishwasher safe. It chops perfect. For instance, it will cut an onion up very fine for soups and meatloaves. You can also chop it larger such as you would want for hot dogs. It rotates while you chop which gives consistency to the chopping. I really don't understand why it has so many unkind reviews. I am very happy ad am thinking of buying a spare just in case I wear this one out. Read all the directions before using. Chopping only takes a few seconds.

It doesn't chop very well, pretty inconsistent. Also, on the small side, it needs more room to chop in both height and width. I do like how easy it is to take apart and clean and I like the idea of the measuring cup.

I like that it looks good but that’s where it ends. I had a red onion to chop and found out quickly that I needed to pre-chop it, so after putting it to chop it all I got were large and small pieces of onion along with a lot of smashed onion pieces. I had to finish the job with a knife it was so bad. Next day I tried fresh and dry parsley leaves. Same problem that I had with the onions. It’s going back. I love the OXO company just not this product.

Pros: It is dishwasher safe and is easy to assemble and disassemble. It can be used with or without the base (on a cutting board). Cons: I bought it to dice onions so I wouldn’t have to handle the onion as much. The onion has to be cut up into smaller chunks to fit inside, so it kind of defeats the purpose. It also cuts unevenly, leaving both large and small chunks. I’ve been just tossing out the large chunks. Sadly, it doesn’t really save that much time or effort.

Nice design. Sharp and convenient. Easy to use and clean. Everything can go in the dishwasher except for the knife/cutter. You have to be extra careful because it’s very sharp. And, put this out of reach of children because they think it’s a toy.
