Use the OXO SoftWorks Hand-Held Mandoline for your next cucumber salad, apple tart or potato gratin. Start by choosing your desired slice thickness, then use the soft non-slip holder to safely slide the food over the stainless steel blade. Q: If I cut zucchini how long is the blade in inches Vertically?

A: Thanks for your question! The width of the cutting bed on the Handheld Mandoline is 74 mm. The mandoline will cut the length of the food that you're slicing. For example, if the zucchini is 5 inches long and you are cutting it lengthwise, the strips will be 5 inches long. I hope this information is helpful!

Q: Will the blade slice zucchini 1/8 inch at 10 Inches long??

A: Hello! Thanks for your question! Our Handheld Mandoline Slicer has three thickness settings which is 1mm, 2.5mm and 4mm. The mandoline will cut the entire length of the food that you're slicing. If you are cutting food that is 10 inches long, you will get 10 inch long strips. However, for best results, we would recommend cutting fruits/vegetables into sections for easier and safer handling.

A: Thanks for you question! The blade on the Handheld Mandoline Slicer can be locked into place by sliding the adjuster to the lock position. This will allow the blade is flush with the mandoline.

Within minutes of opening this I was in the urgent care for a sliced pinky. Learn from me and do NOT use this without a Kevlar glove or using the attachment that comes with it. I had a difficult time getting it to stick in the onion so I didn’t use it. LEARN FROM ME. I had half of an onion left and bam blood everywhere!!!

Had been thinking of getting a mandoline for a while & finally took the plunge on this one. So far I have only used it once ( just purchased it yesterday) but it was a breeze to use on the sweet potatoes I needed to slice. I wasn't sure it was working the first few swipes since it cut the sweet potatoes so effortlessly I had to double check the bowl. Took off a star because the sweet potatoes stained the white plastic even though I immediately cleaned when i was done using it

The grips to hold onto the food is small and plastic (so weak), so you have to go slowly to keep it from falling off. It does have somewhat of a guard, but it is still a little risky. Blade is sharp.

I dislike that I’m typing with my left thumb. Because my right is bandaged. The food holder held nothing and slips, needs serious redesign. Unfortunate, because I can attest that the blade is formidable against a variety of textures, like cucumbers, fingers, and hard gel manicured nails.

So I saw this item on Instagram with influencers using it to make cucumber salad and I had to get it and I was so happy it is one of the best mandolin’s. I’ve ever used. It’s low risk. I’ve used other mandolins before and I’ve nicked myself and this one is just wonderful definitely

I would pay a few more dollars if this was longer & wider. Did not fit over a medium silver bowl. The hand held food pusher is useless unless the food item is exact size & high, could be lower. Carrots at the end of use are dangerous, nicked my thumb. Easy to clean.

It's my first time trying one of these slicers and it is very sharp. Easy to slice. I thought it wasn't working because it sliced so easily. The potato gripper could probably be better but I have nothing to compare it to.

Had my girl go out and pick this up so I could make Oklahoma onion smash burgers and for the price it works surprisingly well. Sliced up a whole onion very finely, enough to cover 6 pattie's with. It even impressed my girls brother who thought it would be a waste of money.

Super easy to use and clean. 💯 I was nervous about purchasing this without a protective glove (I still think using any mandoline is safer with one on), but I did fine without it. In my limited experience so far, where I have only sliced potatoes for making two 6 qt slow-cookers of scalloped potatoes, the veggie gripper really could not be used until the potato was a smaller "height" bcz the prongs are quite shallow and do not grip a larger potato with any security. However, once the potato had been "mandolined" to a smaller size, I could then use the gripper with greater success. Another great feature of this product was the 3 thickness settings which are easy to alter. Not to mention the fact that this item, at Target was about $15 less than Amazon. Also, although the manufacturer says you can put it in the dishwasher, most knife blades lose their sharpness fairly quickly when cleaned in a dishwasher, so I will not be doing that. Washing the mandoline by hand is a snap, so as a cost-conscious consumer, I will continue to do that. This is a great buy!
