Extremely difficult to clean
I don't know where many of these extremely positive reviews are coming from. I think these "tester" folks didn't really use the product at all. This product is extremely difficult to clean. Sure, you may be protected from the blade while cutting and because it can't be taken apart, but you won't be protected from it while you try to get all the bits of mashed up food out that get stuck in places inside that can't be reached. I've only used it once and spent 30+ minutes trying to get all the little bits out, from all angles. That little brush is not going to do much at all. Blasting with spray from the faucet did not dislodge the food from inside this thing. A bunch of food was wasted by being smooshed up in the bottom - about the same that is wasted with the other type of mandolin when you can't slice close or you'll cut your finger. If I can't find a better way to clean this, to the thrift store it goes and I'll go back to using a knife. The blade assembly piece that you push down, needs to be able to be removed from the top so it can be cleaned.

Can't clean, dice blades ALWAYS nick food
Do not buy this mandoline. Bought it since I saw it used in some YouTube videos for Hotpot, and an upright mandoline seemed to be better than the standard style. The design for this is atrocious and I should have paid more attention to the videos on it(you can see food getting stuck in the chute or it conveniently cut out) Food gets stuck on every part of it, so you have to get something thin to push anything you cut out. The dice blades are not covered, so anything you cut will get scored by those blades. I've used it two times since I bought it since I couldn't get it clean. Finally today I was tired of looking at it still not clean from the second time I used it (no matter how much I tried to clean it, would keep finding more pieces of food stuck in places) and I took the entire thing apart after ANOTHER attempt at deep cleaning it. It is NOT meant to be taken apart making that process a massive pain, but the amount of food I found caked into places you CANNOT access was disgusting, and even with it fully in pieces the main grey piece is all one, so you still have to fight to get a mini bottle brush or tooth brush into places to clean. It isn't safer than non upright models, the consumer can't clean it, and it can't even cut produce without damaging it. I have no idea what I'm going to do with mine, I wouldn't even give this away to someone I hated. AVOID THIS PRODUCT.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand how frustrating it can be when cleaning and using a mandoline doesn’t meet expectations. For best results, always use the hand guard when slicing, rinse and brush each part immediately after use, and use a soft brush or toothpick to reach small crevices. If you continue to have difficulty or have concerns about your unit, our Consumer Assistance Team is happy to help, and you can reach us at 1-800-726-0190 and reference ticket number 8900425300. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us understand how consumers use our products and where improvements may be beneficial.

Do not buy this product
WARNING! Doesn’t work as advertised and almost impossible to clean. Customer pays for return shipping and it states “unused”… not sure how one can review product without utilizing it. Don’t say you weren’t warned.

Precision slicing vegtables SAFELY
A mandolin that makes me (and my husband) feel confident that I will NOT injury my self. I cut raw sweet potatoes 2-3 times a week to dehydrate for my dog's treat. My old style mandolin used to take 30-45 minutes to get them sliced and I didn’t always get consistent thickness with the upright I had everything sliced in 20 minutes and consistent thickness Very easy for someone with arthritis

High risk of breakage
As a slicer, this is safe. It's well engineered, but has a number of caveats: 1. All of the parts are plastic and rely on friction fit between parts. If you drop any part of this machine and snap off a tab or fitting, the stand or storage ability will be ruined. 2. The slice angle is at 45 degrees and can't be changed. Carrots, cucumbers - anything stick-like, slices at an angle. Use gently and it will serve you well, but if you're prone to dropping things, this won't last long.

No way to Clean
No way to take it apart for cleaning... Small bits get stuck and very dangerous to get them out.

Cuisinart Upright Mandoline
I love this upright mandoline. I had bought a cheaper one, but ended up returning it because it was very difficult to slice potatoes and I ended up slicing part of my fingernail off, despite using the guard. It slipped. Anyway, I no longer worry about slicing off my finger or nails. It's very sturdy, and easy to use. It works great for potatoes, which is primarily what I bought it for. I love fries and baked potato slices. This makes it a breeze. I did try a roma tomato, just for kicks. That didn't work so well, but in all fairness, I didn't expect it to. The unit is also easy to clean and store. I feel it is worth the price tag, and I'm glad I decided to purchase it.

Very safe product
Easy to assemble and much safer than a mandolin. I used it to julienne carrots for a Korean Spiced Carrot salad and it worked great. It would have taken me forever to do it with my handheld julienne slicer!

Quality you expect from Cuisinart
This mandoline slicer works flawlessly. I have not used it to julienne yet, but I'm sure it works great in those functions as well. Very easy to clean and store.

Cuisinart PrecisionSlice
Cuisinart PrecisionSlice Upright Mandoline Review Performance: The Cuisinart PrecisionSlice mandoline provides consistent, even slices with its sharp stainless-steel blades. It handles various vegetables and fruits well, offering adjustable thickness settings. Design: The upright design is space-efficient and easy to store. The non-slip base ensures stability, and the safety guard keeps hands protected during use. Usability: Simple to adjust and operate, with a comfortable grip. It’s quick to clean, as the components are dishwasher-safe. However, it can be a bit difficult to handle for those with limited hand strength. Pros: Sharp blades, adjustable thickness, easy to clean. Cons: Can be challenging for those with weaker hands. Recommendation: Perfect for anyone who frequently prepares vegetables. I’d rate it 4.5/5 for efficiency and ease of use.

It works
This is such a time saver for slicing my veggies, only thing is, sometimes they fly all over, and if your item your slicing isntoo small, the pieces get stuck and its really hard to clean, its still is better than the regular mandolins amd much more safer.

A lifesaver!
I have developed overuse injury on my wrist and fingers over the years. The occupational therapist reassured me I could still cook. And bake but I needed to rethink how I see my hands when buying, carrying, and preparing food. He gave me many tips. I started to look for ways to slice, dice, chop things. There are so many in the market. I never took to the classic mandolins. When I was doing my online search, I came across this Cuisinart upright mandolin. I’m so glad I found it. Now, I’m back to preparing meals again. And with far less discomfort or pain! Thank you for this, Cuisinart!

I love the mandolin, it's easy to use. The only draw back is cleaning it. I wish it came apart for easier cleaning.

Best mandoline ever
This tool is great! Perfectly slices potatoes with no risk to fingertips. The blade moves instead of the food being sliced. It cleans up easily and stores in a compact unit.

Watch those fingers!!
After a trip to the ER for stitches, I figured it was time to find a safer mandoline for my wife. This fits the bill. Great build quality and very safe to use. Blade is sharp and cuts efficiently. Makes short work for anything we have used it for. I feel much better when my wife is using this as opposed to our prior one, which went to the recycle bin!

No more Worrying about slicing your finger tips!
Makes slicing very easy and fast. Julianne strips are a breeze to make as well. I did not give it a five star rating for the following: The product tends to fly when you slice which makes a little mess. Not too much but a bit. It may just be my way of slicing too fast. Perhaps I need more experience. There is a learning curve. I would like the slice window to be a bit taller so that the Julianne sticks could be longer. It is great to feel my fingers are safe….the process is easy …. And the clean up and storage easy as well.
