Peet's Major Dickason's Blend Dark Roast Coffee is the roast that put Peet's Coffee on the map. A loyal customer of our original Berkeley store, retired army sergeant Key Dickason, brought the idea for our most beloved blend to Mr. Peet in 1969. Intrigued, our founder worked with the local gourmand and coffee aficionado to refine it. They sampled countless combinations before arriving at what is now our all-time bestseller. The result was so good, Alfred Peet decided naming it after his friend wasn't enough. Dickason's rich, complex blend also deserved a promotion from sergeant to major. Major Dickason's combines the best origin coffees from the world's premier growing regions, each imparting its distinctive regional characteristics while still effortlessly rounding into a smooth, balanced cup. Over the years, it has become the coffee that epitomizes Peet's: flavorful, deeply roasted, and unsurpassingly satisfying. But for us, "Major D" is just like a relationship with an old friend. Almost perfect.
First time purchase of the Nespresso pods of Major Dickerson. Takes great- just like the whole beans. With the other pods, I’m usually able to ‘top off’ my cup by running a bit more water through them- but not with these. After the initial brew, they are done. A little disappointing, but I’ll purchase again.

Happy with Major D’s Nespresso pods. I had purchased a cheap single serve coffee machine so I could make MD by the cup… but now I need not use a separate machine to get the excellent MD flavors.

Disappointed
I have long been a fan of major Dickason’s blend of Peet’s coffee — I buy the beans and make my French press every morning. Delicious, rich, satisfying never cloying or bitter. So I was thrilled to see it available as espresso pods. But the thrill was gone the moment I tasted my Nespresso-brewed coffee this morning. I could not drink more than a few sips before deciding I needed to go back to the L’Or ristretto pods. Something got lost in translation from the amazing flavor profile of the major Dickason beans or even ground coffee sold in bags and this version in the pods. But please try to tweak the product — I would Love to have the convenience of my favorite coffee in pod form!

Aromatic and Tasty

My husband and I tried this as an expresso, and tried our luck as a lungo. Both were amazing but the expresso was def the one with a kick and the lungo something to be sat with and enjoyed.

Great bold flavor and aroma!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to try these espresso pods from Pete’s coffee, and my first experience was with the major Dickinson’s blend, which is a dark roast with an intensity of 11. The aroma was amazing, and the scent alone woke me up. It definitely lived up to its intensity as it is very bold and delicious. These types of pods I’ve used before, but it was very easy to brew, and I had no issues with that whatsoever. I think this is my new try the big bang medium roast as well. I’ll definitely be re-purchasing. I highly recommend to try if you’d like a bold, aromatic espresso.

The combination of latin american and indio pacifico beans flavors is perfect. Its flavor profile is spice and earth. The intense smell invites you to start the day.
