My kitties are 16 and 18 lb mixed Persians and are quite large. It was my error to not clearly measure the openings for the little condo areas etc. The only places my kitties Will occupy on this kitty condo are the large flat area at the top and the square / round shaped bed type area at the top. They cannot get into any of the enclosed areas, nor can they get into or out of the hammock type area. For smaller kitties I am sure it is a great item.
