Crap
I bought this because I got tired of cleaning a litter box & this appeared to be a good one. Well it was good for about 8 months. Now i keep getting code 4 no sphere detected. I have completely took this thing apart & cleaned it from top to bottom thinking it would fix the problem. Nope still same problem. I about to take this thing & drop kick it all the way back to the store. Not only am I frustrated but my 3 cats are too. I keep finding little surprises in my house because this thing wont work.

Buttons are easy for the cats to press
I bought this about 3 months ago. Great but there are is one minor design flaw. The controls are sensitive and on a ledge near the entrance. Cats that are curious about the clean cycle will pause it by hitting the button. So you have to enable child lock via the app, should be “cat lock” in the app. If the buttons were direct front or side of the unit it would be less prone to curious cats stopping the process. Luckily it is in my work office so I see it, but if you plan to tuck it away out of sight make sure you have child lock on and notifications allowed.

Worked wonder- for about a year.
I bought a little over a year ago- and I absolutely loved it. Until two months ago. It started rotating backwards. I’m not talking upside down and getting stuck if the box is full as some other people as said. I mean rotating in the completely wrong direction and the wheel would make the most horrible noise, a gear getting stuck and not turning. I took it apart and cleaned every nook and cranny multiple times- fully convinced something must be stuck somewhere. This was a multi time a day occurrence. For the price, this should not happen.

I purchased two of these about the same time. One works great and the other one doesn't work....it claims the trash bin is full all the time. I remove it and rearrange the bag and clean underneath the litter box to clean the sensors. I've done this multiple times and messed with this repeatedly. I've looked for parts to see if I can replace the computer portion or sensors and not finding anything. IF it worked like the other one I would like it. So, I have a love hate relationship and I'm afraid I'll have to buy another one but will it work??

Hard to work with
My cats did not like the litter box. It has been hard to clean and get connected to the app. Regret wasting so much money on it.

Super convenient and easy to use

I bought this eight months ago and it held up ok with my two cats. It was easy to use and clean however, I thought this would last longer than eight months. The app is nice if you’re focused on your cats health, however for the price point and amount of work I had put in to maintain it. I don’t think I would get this litter box again.

I am obsessed with this. It is quiet, sleek, easy to put together, holds about 2 weeks worth of waste, time saver, the app is super easy. It tells me when my cat is in it, when it is cycling, when the deodorizer needs replaced and how much my cat weighs. It has safety features so if the cat gets in it will stop automatically. It also holds a very large 12 lb Norwegian Forest cat. He is super fluffy and he does not get any waste stuck in his fur. Worth every penny! Petsafe knocked it out of the ball park!

Overall a nice unit!
So far, mostly good! I had a Little Robot 3 for a couple years and this is an improvement! The smaller size is great for my tiny space, but not so great for the amount of space inside the ball for the cats to move around. I have to keep an eye on it and wipe down the inside often as softer poos tend to leave streaks on the walls or bits in the grate that the cats then rub against when trying to burry their business. Also, bin size is ok, but I have to change the bag every couple DAYS not weeks like some claim. I have an 8-ish lb kitten and a 7 lb senior. The senior only pees in it. The simplicity of the design and fewer moving parts does make this super easy to assemble and clean! My LR3 was a nightmare to maintain, constantly breaking down, this Smartspin has been great.

The biggest pile of garbage I have every purchased
I guess I got the “error code” edition because that’s all this thing is. Out of the box it worked for about a week before giving error codes which almost never get fixed by the official troubleshooting solutions. I gave up on it and threw it in my shed for 6 months pretending it never existed and that I never wasted my money on this thing. Finally I got it out, spent an hour on it and finally got it working. It worked for 5 hours before once again thinking there’s a cat in it at all times, rendering it useless. Every possible fix under the sun was tried on this thing and even with it completely empty, it still thinks a cat is inside. So no this is not going back in to the shed, it is going in a fire pit because watching this thing burn is the only happiness I will get out if this product. That being said it does do an amazing job the 2% of the time that it’s working, which makes this even more frustrating to type.

Works but needs work
We have been using this box for about two years now. The concept of a rotating box is great, the execution of this one well…. Could be much better. Overall the box does what it’s supposed to most of the time… for months now it will constantly say there’s a cat inside and doesn’t rotate. I have tried resetting it, cleaning it, unplugging, ect. And I don’t know how to make it stop. Sometimes unplugging resets it but then after it’s used once it goes back to not turning. So poop builds up and it’s getting on my cats and I’m my house. The box is kinda small for my long haired cats. The rubber mat was ribbed by my cats claw pretty early on. Poop falls to the back of the bucket so it’s constantly scrapping and falling out when changing the bag. The bags rip easy. The weight is not accurate even after calibration. Honestly that was such a hassle I stopped even trying. There’s so many things that could be better about the box..

je l'ai acheté pour noel 2025, elle est superbe. Ca nous aide beaucoup et on apprécie énormement. Cependant nous rencontrons un problème et nous n'arrivons pas à le résoudre.. Notre machine ne fait que biper. Elle sonne toutes les minutes et à la longue ca en devient pénible. On en devient presque fou. Apres des recherches et aucunes notifications via l'application, nous ne savons pas quoi faire. Nous avons ouvert un litige sur le centre d'aide mais pas vraiment de réponse, le numéro est anglais donc difficile de pouvoir se faire aider en expliquant correctement ce que nous rencontrons. Terrible product
Bought this automatic litter box about 2 years ago and is starting to see it malfunction. We clean this litter box probably every 2 weeks now and sometimes it stops cycling even if the tray is empty and is disgusting . The pad is bent and we tried contacting support but they don’t sell them individually and would have to get a brand new litter box is pretty much what the rep told us . Who doesn’t sell pads individually?? I go to every other brand and they do so why doesn’t PetSafe?? Oh and also the app never works. We’ve tried connecting to WiFi several times so we can keep track of our kitties cycle but it doesn’t work. I do not recommend this brand as their product seems to still have many flaws. Will be purchasing another litter box that actually works elsewhere

Abnormal Motor Error
We’ve had the ScoopFree® SmartSpin™ Smart Cat Litter Box Bundle for less than 30 days, and unfortunately we’ve already run into a major issue. The unit repeatedly shows an “abnormal motor current” error and stops working. We’ve followed all troubleshooting prompts and instructions in the app and manual, but the issue continues and we’ve been unable to resolve it. For a product at this price point, we expected much better reliability. It’s frustrating to have a core function fail so quickly, especially when the entire purpose is convenience and reduced maintenance. At this point, we’re very disappointed and would appreciate a permanent solution or replacement.

So far I love this!! We have two cats and have tried several other types of boxes and left tons of messes in the wake of such…. This is quiet, and so far is great! The cats are very curious and have been in and out but it has tracked everything, I love how it gives me a break down of when they were in and out of the box etc! Def worth the money so far!

Cleaning cycle Failure
Love the product. It worked for 13 months, but now we have to manually reset every time the cats uses the box. New sensors might be necessary. We cleaned them with a Qtip, but it didn't help.

great litter box when it was working however only made it about a year . Constant sensor error issues even after following instructions, drum broke . Top cover never wanted to connect . App always kicked me out . Delay on notifications
