Plant Based Ground - 12oz - Good & Gather™

I've had this Target brand of minced "meat" a few times and recently got two for a deal. My most recent recipe I browned the meat first to use in a baked pasta dish. I didn't need to season it or anything besides what was in the sauce and the pasta. So tasty and the meat held its shape and didn't get mushy even reheated as leftovers the next day.

I like that there’s an alternative available for instances like this when I’m fasting from meat & it cooked up similar to ground meat. Although, the smell was very off putting & has an aftertaste that had to be heavily doctored with seasoning. Luckily I was adding this to a soup with broth & potatoes to absorb some of the smell. I wouldn’t purchase this again personally.

After being a hardcore fan of Beyond Meat, I do have to say this is actually much better. Not saying Beyond Meat is bad but definitely my new go to for beef substitute.

PERFECT replacement for beef as a plant base! My girlfriend is a vegetarian and I tried some as a “why not” moment and fell in love as well! You really can’t tell the difference and it taste just as good!

Amazing flavor, consistency and great source of protein! Hard to find vegetarian/vegan protein that isn’t from soy and this pea protein is great! Most name brands have soy in it, are more expensive and don’t taste as good! Go target!

Love it. Been vegan 10+ years and this is awesome. I use it for taco salad, meatloaf, spaghetti, burgers, put it over mashed potatoes and gravy, make breakfast sausage patties. Tastes great, good ingredients, easy to use. Better price than the big name brands.

For a plant based option, this is delicious. And cost effective. It cooks up really well with a tiny bit of oil. The texture is great, it breaks up nicely for the ground factor. Season it well and you’re on your way. And best part, my toddler absolutely loves it!

I'm just writing to say, if you know what these products are like, if they're something that fits your dietary choices, lifestyle, etc, then this less expensive option will do the same trick as the Beyond Beef. I'd say it's more directly comparable to Beyond, since it uses pea protein instead of Soy, like Impossible's product. It also doesn't do that weird fake-bleeding thing that Impossible does, which is... preferred. It tastes fine. I cook for a vegetarian so I'm used to meat alternatives, and this one works great. Makes good tacos, pasta dishes, asian dishes. The end result is all down to how you season it.

We tried the sausages but thought we would try again. The smell took me off guard so fried it up and added it into our spaghetti sauce. There is definitely a different texture and taste. Love this veggie meat! It’s great in a veggie meatloaf and lasagna.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm not sure what I really think of this plant based meatless ground beef. It doesn't look or smell very appetizing when you are cooking it. We made spaghetti with it and you could definitely tell it wasn't actual ground beef. I don't plan on buying it again but think it's a good option if you are trying to go meatless.
