Book Synopsis
Anthology of an International Poetry Reading Series at the Jefferson Market of New York Public Library (Spring 2020-Spring 2023) This anthology comprises poems from the Bilingual Poetry Readings series conducted via Zoom, which originated during the pandemic and was sponsored by the Tompkins Square and the Jefferson Market Library in New York City. The Bilingual Poetry Readings via Zoom wants to open a dialogue between present-day experimental poetry from the United States and the Spanish-speaking world. We believe these poets illustrate the great variety of aesthetics movements and voices in the contemporary poetry scenes of Latin America, Spain, and United States.About the Author
Marta López Luaces published six poetry collections, most recently Talar un nogal, Después de la oscuridad, Los arquitectos de lo imaginario, and Las lenguas del viajero. Her poetry has been translated into Italian (Accento Magico), and Romanian (Prãvãlirea focului). Gival Press published the translation of her poetry book Los arquitectos de lo imaginario as Architects of the Imaginary in 2022. She translated the anthology, New Poetry From Spain and the volume, Veinte poetas españoles del siglo XX. She translated three poetry books into Spanish and published the following books of fiction: Urbanizacion X, El placer de matar a una madre, Los traductores del viento and La virgen de la noche.
