Description

Live as a Pokémon Trainer and help protect the peace in Lumiose City—enhanced for the Nintendo Switch 2 system!
Lumiose City—a home for people and Pokémon alike. Thanks to an urban redevelopment plan driven by Quasartico Inc., the lush greenery of verdant parks intermingles with facilities using the latest cutting-edge technology. A lot has changed here since the days of the Pokémon™ X and Pokémon Y games!
Choose Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile as your first partner Pokémon, and then set off on a grand adventure! Your journey will take you to all manner of sights in the streets arrayed around Prism Tower, including shops, restaurants, and places called wild zones—where Pokémon roam free. As you catch, train, and battle Pokémon, there will be plenty of people to meet too—like AZ, the enigmatic owner of Hotel Z, and Team MZ, the crew that aims to keep Lumiose a peaceful place.
And with performance upgrades for the Nintendo Switch™ 2 system, you’ll experience Lumiose City like never before: with enhanced resolution and frame rates!
Catch, battle, and Mega Evolve—all in real time!
Step onto the battlefield and command your Pokémon directly—there are no turns! For the first time in the Pokémon RPG series, Trainers and their Pokémon can both move around in real-time battles, and your Pokémon will unleash their moves when you tell them to. Strategically swapping out your Pokémon and accounting for each move’s timing and area of effect will greatly help you in this new style of battle.
Harness the power of Mega Evolution! Unleash your Pokémon’s hidden energy to temporarily transform its appearance, enhance its capabilities, and perhaps even change its type. Use this power wisely to try to overcome your toughest challenges, like those posed by the rampaging Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokémon across Lumiose City. Investigate these dangerous incidents so you can put a stop to them—you may even encounter new Mega-Evolved Pokémon along the way!
Compete in the Z-A Royale when night falls—or battle with other players in the Z-A Battle Club
You’re invited to join the Z-A Royale, a competition for Pokémon Trainers to test their skills and determine who’s strongest. Each night, a battle zone for the competition will appear. Prepare yourself by spending the day catching and training Pokémon, then venture into the battle zone to take on other Trainers. Be strategic and complete bonus card challenges as you battle to speed up your climb from Rank Z to Rank A. Reach the top, and you might just have a wish granted.
You can also test your skills against friends or Trainers around the world in the Z-A Battle Club. Take on up to three other Trainers at once, locally* or online**, in frenetic real-time battles!

Q: Do I need to have the cartridge in the system if playing on switch 2 if it comes with the digital upgrade? Wanted to know if I could access game simultaneously on switch 1 and 2 without the card on 2

submitted by anon - 2 months ago
  • A: Yes, you need the base game physically or digitally to play the game on a console despite having a digital purchase of the Switch 2 upgrade.

submitted byRedPanda - 2 months ago
  • A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about the Pokémon Legends: Z-A - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition No, you cannot play the game simultaneously on both consoles using that method. Fun, Charming, Care where it counts most

Tons of fun, lots of personality in the writing and lots of attention to detail in the pokemon themselves. Definitely wish there were touches like modeling more animations (instead of the infamous fade to black) and voice acting. The story is one of my favorites in the franchise, perfect for those who wanted to get more from the lore of Kalos in X and Y. The flat buildings are noticeable at times, yes, but also, that wouldn’t add anything to the game other than ways to cheese certain puzzles. Things are fully modeled out when they matter. Good graphics, shows a lot of hope for getting closer to an actual 5 star 3d pokemon title.

An experimental success!

Refreshing new take on a mainline pokemon game easily one of the best on the franchise impossible not to like unless you dont like having fun. People will bash it just because its fun I can't make this up. Has the best Gamplay,Graphics and a really good Story. Great sequel to X/Y games.

The game itself is fun, I enjoy it but they need to stop making you lose progress to let you know about battle zones, it’s so dumb you lose all the work you put into a battle for it to be lost

$70 Kids Game

I have played about 70 hours now and its safe to say this is a dulled down kids game story-wise. Its very hand holdy and most of the story is just battling mega pokemon to unlock them. I wouldnt have minded but there was little to no post game content including the "royal" which is juat fighting (one shotting) CPU trainers capped at level 59. This is very tedious and annoying as is the online mode, which is just mega spamming. For $70 I expected way, way more and I am so dissapointed and let down. It was probably made for kids so I honestly would stay away unless it is halved in price. There's literally nothing new here its essentially a DLC story length game with Pokémon you already probably have in Pokémon home.

Actually teally fun and hard to out down..

Awesome game. For real Pokémon fans this is actually good. Battle system is a great improvement. I think some people are just expecting so much from a Pokemon game. If it doesn’t align with their viewpoint they hate this and will bash it because they are just negative people. Don’t miss out in the fun just because some people weren’t happy. Try yourself and find out. Having negative people alter your decisions is not helpful to the awesome Pokémon community. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fun game

I guess I'm old enough to not care much about graphics, but focus my attention on gameplay. that being said, I truly enjoy the game. It's enjoyable, you can get carried away in doing missions and side quests.

Arceus is the inferior game.

Love this game! so much to do! People hating on this game are probably mad because they suck at the new gameplay mechanic, which I love. Took me all of 10 minutes to get the hang of. A lot of the bad reviews are literally 2 days after the game released. I doubt they played it enough to write a good review, again, they couldn't get a grip of the action RPG aspect and decided they hated it. Overall, great game on switch 2, looks gorgeous, and Arceus is the inferior game. Peace.

Do not let social media change your opinion on this game this game is great, although it looks bad in some places the character story and battle system are top-tier.

Terrible Customer Service

I'm rating the purchase experience. I preorder this game here because of the gift they we're offering, I was hesitant because of all the bad publicity Target has but hey, the gift sounded okay, boy I should've trust my guts and the popular opinion. The delivery was 5 days after the release date, imagine that! Then I didn't receive the preorder gift, which was the whole reason I bought it here! I called customer service and they didn't have a single clue about the offering and "the system" was not showing anything, so they were not able to solve anything, overall a terrible experience! Definitely I will continue not buying anything here. I was thinking not returning the game, but they don't deserve my money :) Stay away from this store.

My Dissapointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

its pretty lazy slop from the pokemon company which is sadly a growing trend. the battling system is just odd and doesn't really work well.

A lot of fun!

I am loving this game so far! I can’t put it down! I am only about 3 hours in, but so far the story has been good and it seems like there will be a lot to do. There’s the main quests/storyline, side quests, and then research goals to complete. I could see a good amount of hours being put in! The battling is fun as it’s not turned based. Can be chaotic sometimes, but in a good way lol. The game of course is not perfect. Visually the buildings are lackluster and most of them you can’t even enter. You are confined to a city which isn’t very large. So for $70 + the upcoming $30 DLC, people being upset about it is understandable. It does run well though and for me personally, it doesn’t look THAT bad visually. I think if you can afford it and want to play it, don’t give in to the hate and give it a shot. It is fun. If you’re on the fence, maybe try to buy it used or with giftcards to save a little $$. Overall, it’s fun and I enjoy it and don’t regret buying it. I am looking forward to the DLC in February!

PRE-ORDER=DISSAPOINtMENT

This was my first, and last pre-order from Target for a game. Instead of the normal two-day shipping, it is scheduled to arrive seven days after the release date. The original delivery date showed October 17th; there was no explanation provided for the delayed shipment.
