Book Synopsis

Don't call me an expert on prayer.

I'm not sure anyone deserves that honor.

I have two sisters and four brothers, three of whom are with the Lord in Heaven, as are our parents. For the sake of illustration, imagine one of us claiming to be an expert on communicating with Dad and Mom. The others would not let them get by with that. "What's so hard about that?" they would demand. "Mom and Dad are always there, they love us all equally, and they're always pulling for us. Anyone can talk to them!"

They would be offended at one claiming special privilege with our parents.

So, let's not do that. Our Heavenly Father is not remote, not inaccessible, and not hard to talk with.

He is far more willing to hear our prayers than we are to pray. Far more accessible than we are. More willing to bless than we are to receive His gifts.

The problem is us. Not Him.
