Oh, oh, look out!
Oh, oh, look out! A trawl net is sweeping through Rainbow Fish’s world. In Marcus Pfister’s book “Rainbow Fish and the Great Escape”, all the fish are frantic because a trawl net is coming. But what is a trawl net? Rainbow Fish and his friends are swept up into the net. Trapped, Rainbow Fish sends little blue fish, who is small enough to escape the net, for help. Can they be saved? I was a little disappointed and let down by this installment of the Rainbow Fish. The illustrations were up to their normal wonderful quality, but the story line fell short for me. What is a trawl net? Where did it come from? Why did it damage the sea bed? This book seems like it’s trying to jump on the ecology train, but it doesn’t quite make it. This book would be a good group “read-to” book for preschoolers to young elementary children. I wish to thank NorthSouth Books for the complimentary eARC of this book and selecting me to review it on NetGalley. All opinions are my own. #RainbowFishAndTheGreatEscape #NorthSouthBooks #NetGalley #TrawlNets #OceanEcology
