Der niederländische Fotograf Iwan Baan ist vor allem für Bilder bekannt, die das Leben und die Interaktionen in der Architektur zeigen. In Bangladesch entstanden intensive und sinnliche Bilder, die zwischen Dokumentation und Kunst Zeugnis von dem ablegen, was Architektur leisten kann, wenn es nicht um Repräsentation, sondern um gesellschaftlichen Nutzen geht.

Im Buch enthalten sind auch Baans Bilder von Heringers neuesten Bauten in Europa.
