This was purchased for a larger-than-normal breakfast nook. Looks great! It was also very easy to install.

This ‘review’ is a how-to on removing the glass shade and the wrapped wire cage for cleaning or to replace the bulb. Please note, you have to remove the wrapped wire cage to allow the glass shade to be removed. The wrapped wire cage has a screw thread in the neck (see photo below) which screws on and off the fixture which holds the bulb (see photo). The cage is removed by turning it counter-clockwise, but it will need a lot of unscrewing (maybe 10 full 360 degree turns) but will eventually come loose. Once the wrapped wire cage is loose, the glass shade should ‘slide’ off (it might need a gentle pull), and you will have access to the bulb. To replace the bulb (carefully check that it isn’t too hot to hold; turn off the light and give it time to cool down if needed), simply pull down and it will pop out easily. A new bulb just requires a gentle but firm push upwards to install. To clean the glass shade, simply wash gently in warm, soapy water (I use a soapy sponge), rinse well and dry thoroughly. Re-installing the wrapped wire cage and glass shade can be a bit of a fiddle, but is just the reverse of removing them. The shade will ‘slide’ over the bulb and fixture, and the wrapped wire cage will screw on clockwise. I hope this was helpful!

The light fixture is absolutely beautiful. However, if you choose to replace the halogen bulbs with LED'S, you will need an electrician to put the bulbs in as the assembly that holds the bulbs is junky and does not hold the slightly larger LED bulbs. My electrician is good and was able to fix it.

This ceiling light is beautiful. I bought it three years ago and one out of 6 lights broke upon installation. It was fine because I didn’t use all 6 of the bulbs at once, as that was too bright anyway. Fast forward to 3 years later, and 4 out of 6 lights are broken. There is a major flaw in the design. When the lights need to be changed (they don’t last long at all), you have to twist off the outside glass and the metal piece inside. When you go to twist them back in place, they often times get stuck. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to untwist them. I was unfortunately unlucky because 4 of them are stuck and they won’t move. I tried untwisting them and they started cracking.

This light fixture will absolutely compliment this room. Not completely remodeled yet and can’t wait to see the end result!
