Guessing how the base works
Just put my umbrella together. I suppose the thing that you have to do with this base is get a wooden board and screw the base on top of it, then place your weights over the board.

great looking and easy to use base
I filled mine with water. They are huge. but looks good. They hold the large (11.5 inch) offset umbrella well. I plan to drain the water out before winter and store the 4 pieces in the garage. I don't know how easy to drain the water out - hopefully it is not heavy to flip and drain (yes, having draining hole would be great design).

Patio Base Units are not held together
Although the patio base appear to be well constructed, once filled with sand or water they lay on top of the base for the umbrella but there is nothing holding them in place. If one or two of these containers gets bumped slightly they will no longer be on top of the umbrella stand and the umbrella will easily blow over. They need some type of cover or strap to hold them together on top of the umbrella stand.

This base came on time
This base came on time and today I will fill it with Sand and secure the umbrella. The base looks Good,,not the trashy look that comes with the bags piled on top. I am happy with the base as it appears to be well built :blush:
