Review Quotes

"The thing I always liked about Lowell, whether you agreed or disagreed with what he wrote, he'd always stand behind it and not back down if he thought he was right. But he would also reconsider if he thought he was wrong. I remember all that Lowell wrote about me. He always got the facts right."
--Dusty Baker, former MLB All-Star outfielder and veteran manager

"I grew up in San Jose and started college in 1981. . . . Lowell Cohn was the go-to guy at the Chronicle and became my favorite writer. He was tough, gritty, critical, sarcastic, humorous, and never a homer. He called it like he saw it, a rarity then and even more so now. . . . Lowell's intellectual curiosity always drove me to think about the 'how' and the 'why' of the game I loved. He is a caring and thoughtful friend."
--Brent Jones, former tight end and four-time Pro Bowler for the San Francisco 49ers

"Lowell Cohn is a sports-writing icon. His professionalism, preparation, and research of the facts set the gold standard for his generation. I respect and admire Lowell. He has the perfect balance of Brooklyn toughness and Bay Area kindness."
--Chris Mullin, Hall of Fame small forward for the Golden State Warriors and Indiana Pacers
