A: I use the decals that come with the pitcher. they run a 60 day cycle. However, I find that I go thru them faster in the summer time as I use more water drinking, then I seem to change the filter every 45 days. Take in mind that this will depend on the size of your household and water conditions of your area. I do prefer the PUR over Brita as I had one of those in the past.

A: There is no expiration date on the packaging or on the sealed filter packets. This does not surprise me. I am a chemist with a great deal of experience in filtration and activated charcoal type filters. Simply put, I cannot see a reason why the product would expire provided the seals are intact and unopened for the packets containing the actual filter.
