I've had mine for a month and it works great. It saves me money, because I can bring a salad and other things into work for lunch. It does a great job keeping my drink cold too. I bought a 12 volt power supply that has a cigarette lighter outlet for using the cooler in my office. I hope Monoprice would sell the adapter and extra power cables for when I move the cooler from my vehicle to indoors.

This cooler will not chill from room temperature in less several hours nor will it warm an item from cool. It will only maintain an existing cool or warm item and that capability can be lost once the lid is opened.

Skip it. The cooling function might work if you had hours. Hours in the dozens. But the max cooling is 39º. Which is the max food can be stored safely, which means if you open the lid, even it was at 39º in the first place (which I hadn't seen yet) you'll lose your 1º buffer. And the cooling is so slow it may be an hour before you get that back... if you get there at all. It's a great small design, but the internals make it a very expensive normal cooler that weighs slightly more because of the electronic deadweight.
