A: Thanks for asking. Although we can't speak to other brands, we have tested our clumping litters with multiple cats, and the activated charcoal helps to absorb the odor of multiple cats when used as directed.

While this litter doesn't contain blue colored pieces, it has black pieces and these are activated charcoal from coconut shells. They are added to help absorb and control odor. Please know that the litter products we produce are manufactured on the same production equipment. We use an equipment flushing step prior to the production of Tidy Cats Free & Clean to minimize the presence of any other litter formula components. I don't always purchase this Cat litter , because sometimes it can be messy to clean up. My two yr old cat is a digger and this litter goes everywhere. I don't like the litter and the easy scooping of it but since my cat is a digger it makes it hard for me on the clean up end .

This is the best cat litter I've found to keep my allergies at bay. It's unscented and low dust so I can breathe while cleaning the litter box and changing the litter. My only compliant is that it sticks to my cat's feet and get dropped all over the house. I often find it on my bed, which is across the house and up the stairs from the litter box.

This was the perfect litter (it did track a lot, but it was worth it for the clumps and no smell), we’d been using it for more than 5 years with no issues. In the past year or so they changed the formula and it doesn’t clump at all. Stopped using it and still trying to find something as affordable

The item was half full. They literally sale half full cat litter and do not care. Waste of a trip and money. Can’t even see the line where it starts. I did a pickup to save time and I was highly disappointed!

i switched from a different well known brand after years of use and a formula change to this, and i’m not sure this is it either. i agree that this clumps horribly, and is like scooping impossible mud out of the bottom. it isn’t horribly dusty, it does track out of the box. it is actually unscented which is the reason i switched from my previous HOWEVER, it does not mask the smell well at all.

Loved this cat litter and have used it for 6+ years but I’ve finally decided I’m going to switch. I don’t know if something in the formula has changed (it must have) but this litter is tracking through my house more than ever before. Nothing has changed aged about my litter box set up. This problem has started this past year and I can’t stand it anymore. I cleaned my litter box yesterday and vacuumed the whole house and today it looks like I didn’t even vacuum. Litter EVERYWHERE. Change it back.

This product is far and away the worst litter I have used in 30 years. I am unsure purina understands what clumping actually means. I have multiple litter pans that I clean every other day and this litter falls apart into wet granules that fall through my scoop back into the pan, i strongly recommend against using this product.
