Description
Book Synopsis
A gorgeous, limited edition of the instant #1 New York Times bestseller that includes a new cover with foil elements, silver metallic edges, designed endpapers, a stamped foil case, and an exclusive bonus chapter. Do not touch the sword. Do not turn the key. Do not open the gate. Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses, or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember. In the land of the unforgiving desert, there isn't much a girl wouldn't do for a glass of water. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone. When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares...but it turns out they're real, and Saeris has landed right in the middle of a centuries-long conflict that might just get her killed. The first of her kind to tread the frozen mountains of Yvelia in over a thousand years, Saeris mistakenly binds herself to Kingfisher, a handsome Fae warrior, who has secrets and nefarious agendas of his own. He will use her Alchemist's magic to protect his people, no matter what it costs him... or her. Death has a name. It is Kingfisher of the Ajun Gate. His past is murky. His attitude stinks. And he's the only way Saeris is going to make it home. Be careful of the deals you make, dear child. The devil is in the details... N.B. Quicksilver contains depictions of graphic violence/adult situations and is therefore recommended for readers 17+. The book itself is a wonderful book. Rating 2 stars for the way it was packaged. It left the spine damaged, which is very disappointing seeing as it's a "limited addition."

The story itself ranks as one of my favorite romantasy type books. The new cover is a huge upgrade from the original. Love the silver edged pages and the metallic detail to the title on the front.

I really love this book, so imagine my surprise when I receive it and the spine of it is all wonky and bumpy. Also, there were a few scrapes on the top of the sprayed edges, but that didn't bother me as bad as the Frankenstein spine 😭
Quicksilver Orignal cover art was the best

The original cover art was better. This new art one in the interior made him look more feminine than a masculine man. At first I thought it was a Michael Jackson drawing but nope that was supposed to be kingfisher. I recommend the book just not this new cover version. This felt like a downgrade they could’ve done the original cover art on hardback with purple & blue sprayed edges maybe even reflective foil.
Much prettier in person

Absolutely adore this book, start to finish. If you are unsure, just get the book. Better yet also get the audio book. This part of my review has nothing to do with the book story and the book itself. TARGET-STOP PUTTING YOUR STICKERS ON THE BOOKS!! You are ruining the special edition with the stickers. It leaves nasty residue and you can always see where the sticker was. Its annoying!
I HATE TARGET STICKERS!!!

First of all, I love this book and I highly recommend it to EVERYONE but target and these stupid stickers takes the value right out of it. This isn’t my first time experiencing this with target either. 50 years later we’re gonna be reselling these, labeled “Target sticker version” like come on already??
Beautiful Book

Bought the book in store to ensure I received a good copy. The art inside is gorgeous. The cover is simple, but much better than the first edition cover. As far as the book, I cannot put it down.

Want to start out by stating that I LOVE this story and this review is for the physical book itself. STOP PUTTING STICKERS ON THE COVERS! Especially ones with matte dust jackets! I peeled my sticker off and the residue left behind is ridiculous! There’s no way this can be a collection copy anymore, as the dust jacket is damaged now.

Disappointed - 5 days ago, Verified purchaser
I received the deluxe 1st edition damaged. There’s markings from the packaging on the book. The sticky/glue is on the binding and another slight mark on the front cover. I bought this as a collectible piece and I am not happy at all. I can’t exchange it. If I select to buy another and return this copy, it makes me select a completely different book all together because this deluxe edition is sold out. I wouldn’t recommend buying this as a collectible piece and expect the copy to be damaged in transit.

You’re kidding. $33 for this? I’m cancelling my preorder. This is the most boring cover I’ve ever seen. Such a downgrade from the original art.
