Description

Book Synopsis

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

A complete guide to understanding and dismantling racism.

Racism in Mexico goes far beyond discrimination on the basis of skin color: It is a systemic structure of inequality answering to multiple factors. Jumko Ogata Aguilar poses a range questions to break down this complicated issue, helping readers detect hidden racist dynamics and begin to fight against the system. This book guides us through basic concepts such as racialization, whiteness, white supremacy and eugenics, and their manifestations in education, history and the media. It even touches on the timely issue of racism in artificial intelligence. I Want to Be an Anti-Racist! Is not only a call to reflection, but also an accessible and valuable guide to joining anti-racist efforts in Mexico and the world.
