Prefer the original
2.5 stars. Lacked spark of regular Rao's. We did a side by side sauce tasting of the marinaras, and we preferred the original. The limited reserve was good as jarred sauces go, but the original is better and notably less expensive. If this was the same price as regular Rao's, I'd give it 3.5 stars, but the limited reserve sauce is just way too expensive for what it is - about twice the price per ounce.

This sauce is phenomenal! It has a rich, deep, homemade flavor that would be delicious in any Italian dish. Far superior than most jar sauces, and much better than Rao’s regular marinara. I will be buying more.

Rao's Limited Reserve Red Wine sauce wows!
This red wine sauce from Rao's limited reserve is the best sauce I've ever had. I used it for the first time when making a lasagna for Valentine's Day for my family and my love. It was the first time we finished an entire lasagna. This sauce is one that people should have in their pantry as a staple. The sweetness of the wine paired with the savoriness of the dish made this the main star of my dinner. Thank you, Rao's!

Delicious sauce
This is really a delicious sauce. It's quite flavorful anf goes great if you throw in sausage or other items to bulk up the sauce. It's remarkably different, in a a good way, compared to the other standard Rao's selection. Highly recommend.

No better store bought sauce!
Probably the best store bought sauce you can get. This is they way sauce should be made, perfect punch. No sweet taste apparent in this sauce which is the standard for the sauce buyers who have never been to Italy. This sauce has a great texture which bond to the pasta increasing the flavor. Great job Rao!!!

Rao's red wine marinara
Wonderful, silky, with some real depth -- very likely from the wine. Needs very little enhancement: fresh basil and/or oregano, parmagiana for serving. Maybe a sprinkle of red pepper flakes. But that is it. One might want to follow Marcella Hazan's 4 ingredient sauce, but do as little as possible for a great meal (don't forget the pasta).
