Surprised to not see reviews mentioning the smell. I purchased this can in store today and could smell it while standing up (it was on the bottom shelf). Going to let it air out a few days at home and see if it goes away. Smells like a strong chemical or varnish.

This is not a good fit for a bathroom in a humid state. I went to empty the trash the other day and spotted on the bottom outside a huge growth of green mold. It’s a nice trash can for a dry room but I would not recommend for a bathroom.
