Great family game! There was a helpful YouTube video we watched one time to learn how to setup and play the game. We played it a few times for everyone to learn the rules and figure out various strategies of winning. The game is blast!!

Fun, once you get through all the instructions

As an early reviewer, I received this game in exchange for my honest opinion. My 9 and 7 year old enjoyed playing this game with my husband and I. It definitely takes some time to understand the rules. Set up took us a bit. Once we ran through it once and got the jist of it, we had fun. I like the concept of gathering tokens and then being able to flip over a card once you've completed a "mission". I also like the element of risk where players can keep playing while others refuel to hopefully get ahead! I also enjoy the dice launcher part (which switches it up instead of just rolling).

Complicated initial set up

2 out of 5 stars

As an early reviewer, I received this game in exchange for my honest opinion. I only gave this game 2 stars as we struggled to understand the directions after doing all the tedious work of setting the game up. Once we finally had everything set up the directions were confusing and honestly we had no energy to try and decipher them after the initial set up! I saw another reviewer mention watching a video for understanding so maybe we'll try that but otherwise this game will go unplayed.

Good for families

As an early reviewer, I received this game in exchange for my honest opinion. Space Mountain is simple to understand. My 5, 7, and 9 year olds picked up on the game play quite quickly. The two older ones can play competitively by themselves, but the younger one needs a little help with strategy. We found this game to be a good one as either a family game (although it only supports 4 players) or an upper elementary level game. My husband and I would never choose this one to play with peers: the strategy is too simple (I enjoy games with simple rules, but this one doesn't have the mental stimulation or excitement that I prefer with easy-to-follow games). But as stated earlier, my kids enjoy it, and I don't mind playing it with them. It's at least more stimulating than other kid games (think draw-a-card-and-move-x-spaces type games). The pieces are good quality and just what I would expect from Ravesburger. There are "space port" pieces that your space ship starts from and moves through during the game that really just get in the way, so we don't even put them on the board. The dice roller is cute and my youngest really enjoys rolling the dice. The game only takes me and my kids about 30 minutes to play. So it's the perfect length for their attention spans.

As an early reviewer, I received this game in exchange for my honest opinion ... Fun game once we watched a youtube video on how to play ... there were a lot of little pieces and several of the standees have to be taken apart to fit back into the box (which I prefer not to have to do) You could probably go a little younger than 8 years old but not much but it was fun and kept us entertained for a hour or two :)

Fun game once you figure out the rules

As an early reviewer, I received this game in exchange for my honest opinion. cute game! We loved the artwork and game play was fun! instructions were a bit confusing but we figured them out. Love the dice roller that is designed to look like the launcher at Disney. Biggest criticism would be that the fuel gauge was not well made. It has the same image on both sides, but not mirrored so you could easily lose track of where you actually are (low or high depending on which side you are looking at). Fuel gauge tracker also seemed a bit flimsy. also seemed odd that the space mountain "figures" were not necessary to play the game. I would have thought Ravensburger could have come up with a better design to incorporate them into the game play. Overall, it's a fun game and would recommend for family's even if they have never been to space mountain!

I received a copy of this game in exchange for my honest opinion. This was a fun game for families with kids ages 8 and up. Younger kids could probably play with some assistance, but it proved to be a bit tedious for my 5 year old. The directions were slightly complicated, and required reading a couple of times. It may be helpful to have a rules video as many board game companies are making now. The look of the game is very cool, however I always get nervous with cardboard pieces because they seem to get torn up easily. Overall, though, this game was fun to play for my older children and I to play and I like that the alternate rules give us a way to shorten the game if we would like as well.

Fun game, vague rules

I recieved a copy of this game in exchange for my honest review. I highly enjoy this game. Overall, this is a fun game. The game play is simple yet still challenging. I feel you could play this with younger kids if you help them with the movement. However, first you have to figure out how to play it. The rules are vague at best. in an attempt to have a minimal rule book, it feels like they forgot a page. you have to complete missikn cards, but there isn't a mission section in the rule book. does your turn end after hitting a black hole? or do you get to finish using the rest of the dice? There needs to be a better layout to be better arranged also. movement isn't collected in one category, but spread throughout the rulebook. The aesthetic of the game is beautiful, but at the cost of function. there are 3D space stations that tou have move under. this makes it hard to play. I love the idea, but stations that you land on top of would be better. the fuel gauge isn't the easiest to use. Don't let all that detour you though, just take it into consideration. This game is worth playing, just look up a how to play and skip the stations

We played this game with ages 7-40ish and it was enjoyed by all! While the 7 year old was a fan I would say the game was more enjoyed by kids 10 and up. Fun for parents to play too. The changing board set up for each game allows for long time play without becoming repetitive. The 3D ports on the board are unnecessary for game play and make moving pieces hard so we just played without them. First read of the directions feels difficult but not hard to get the hang of once you start going. There are directions to modify the game to shorten or make more enjoyable for younger players. Love that some players can refuel while others continue to play so an unfocused player can go off to do something else and join back in a little later without causing any game upset. We would definitely recommend this game for family fun with board games! I received this game free in exchange for my honest opinion.

I played this game with kids 8 and 10. Impressive set up with a cool look. My 10 year old caught on quickly but it was a bit tricky for the 8 year olds. Game took some time but it was fun to chat about our Disney trip and remember the ride experience. The cardboard game pieces are already showing some wear so I'm a bit concerned about the kids taking care with the game. I think we'll play it more when they are a bit older. As an early reviewer, I received this game in exchange for my honest opinion. I played this with my 8 year old and found it enjoyable and so did she. It took a little bit to understand the rules, especially around the refueling concept with how the rounds work but once you figure that out it’s easy to play (i.e. read the rules all the way through before playing instead of reading on the fly). Only negative comment would be if you removed the Space Mountain concepts, it’s just another space game. It’s only Disney Space Mountain because it was branded as such, not because of any real ties to the attraction that in aren’t just superficial. Overall it was a good game and long enough to hold attention but not too long where you get bored.

Pros: -Requires a good amount of strategy, including a board that varies each time you play. Working toward two goals (space stations and missions) adds a unique strategic element. -The kids love the dice launcher -nice looking game board and pieces

As an early reviewer, I received this game in exchange for my honest opinion. Disney Space Mountain is a great family game for young kids who are either fans of space exploration or just Disney itself. I played this with my little cousin and they had a blast flying around space, rolling dice, and completing missions. It was super simple to setup and learn and went by pretty quickly. My only real complaints are that when popping out all the cardboard pieces you have to be really careful because they can get damaged easily and that the game, whilest fun, is very simple and I'd love it if it had a way to make it more competitive for a slightly older crowd. Definitely worth checking out.

Good for kids and adults to play together

My 8yo and I really enjoy playing this game together. The concept is simple enough that we had the strategy down the first night we played. But the game board is always changing, and there's enough chance involved that every time through feels different. For younger kids, it's great that the game involves no reading, only symbols and pictures. There are alternate gameplay options in the rules to make the game easier for even younger kids, but it would have been helpful if there were some adaptations to make it harder for older kids, or to add more variety into the gameplay over time. The "dice roll" mechanism is quite fun and helps keep the dice from flying around the room. There's an element of risk-taking or playing-it-safe in the gameplay that adds a fun wrinkle. Note that the game only works for a maximum of four players; on the plus side, it works better than most as a two-player game. The cards, pieces, and board are well designed and durable. ** As an early reviewer, I received this game in exchange for my honest opinion. **

As an early reviewer, I received this game in exchange for my honest opinion. This game was fun for our family. Our 11 and 9 year old really enjoyed the game and our 4 year old had fun using the dice launcher. Once you play a couple of rounds the game moves faster. It’s a super fun game and our kids are looking forward to playing again but it is definitely for kids ages 8 plus. I would also like to add, the artwork on the game board is very pretty.
