Real Techniques Powder Puff - Pastel Pop

Haven’t used the fuzzy side but the spongy side is not at all a good sub for a beauty blender. Found this out the hard way by packing only this for travel thinking it would be more space efficient.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love how useful this complexion sponge and how easy it is to take on the go with your makeup kit. After priming with moisturizer, I can use the orange side of this sponge to apply, spread, and press in serum, liquid, or cream foundations. While it is made of the same material as the blending sponges, you really don’t have to wet it to make this do a really good job. The sponge side absorbs very little liquid makeup and can help you achieve an even, textureless distribution of product. On the other side is a pink flocked puff which is wonderful for applying setting powder lightly or for baking with a lot of powder. It’s gentle and doesn’t pull my skin if I happen to drag it across my face. Its shape makes it really easy to cover large areas of the face quickly, but also features two points that make it easy to get into smaller areas like the nasolabial creases. The sponge has a silicone pad inserted between these two different sides and this insert gives the sponge a good bounce, firm texture, and a not-so- flimsy feel. The elastic strap can be flipped on either side of the sponge, and it fits perfectly over my fingers to allow me greater control over the sponge. It’s also really easy to clean and i find that stains don’t linger on either surface. I also find that it does just fine when I throw it in a delicate wash in a mesh bag, use gentle detergent, and air-dry. My only nitpick is that I wish it came with a compact or a small bag that would make it easier and neater to take on the go.

It has a nice velvety side for creams and liquids and since I usually like to use cushion puffs this is perfect. Then you can flip it over to use the flocked side for powders. I appreciate the tip to get into the crevices and under the eye. It’s great for travel because the less things I need to bring the better.

It feels like it distributes powder evenly and really gets it into my skin without looking blotchy or just pushing the product into my pores. I know that side is probably technically meant for liquid product, but it has been working great with powder.

As with the original, I like the way you can take this sponge on the go with you, especially if you have the travel case. I like the powder side for setting my under eye area, just wish it could get directly into the inner corner. The sponge side is great for blending in creams, like blush and bronzer. Also does well to diffuse the intensity of creams.

This one is a nice size and shape, I typically wash them in a net bag and lay flat to dry and they have held up. I imagine if you have the "RT travel case" set, this is good to have as a back-up when one is being washed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to love this product but unfortunately I found that the silicone layer on the inside was too thick for the sponge to be able to get into smaller areas like around the nose or the under eye without a lot of force in bending it, a little thinner and itd be perfect. I also found that cleaning it proved a little difficult as the side for liquid swells when wet but because it doesn't stick to the inside and therefore it moves a lot and risks tearing easily, it also did not dry to it's original shape after the third wash.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Real Techniques does an amzing job innovating makeup tools with new shapes and designs effectivley place product where and how it should be done. This puff is no exception as the materials used and the design of this beautifully coloured Pastel Pop Miracle 2-In-1 Powder Puff is great for both larger and more precise product application. There are two sides for two types of product, pink for powders and the orange sherbet for creams and liquids. The orange side says it is the same as the complexion sponge but it feels different to me and I find it less effective at applying my liquid foundation. It is do-able but I have other RT products like the Pastel Pop Miracle Complexion Sponge I'll continue using for those (but it is nice to have a back-up all-in-one). However, the pink dual fiber side for powder application works wonderfully, especially when setting powder in areas like under my eyes. The puff is fairly easy to clean and dries pretty quickly. I almost forgot one of the best parts is the band that can be flipped over to allow for an ergonomic hold and control over both sides of the applicator without getting your fingers messy or causing product cross contamination.

It has two sides, one is for powder application and the other I use to blend concealer or foundation. I like it for travel because it's essentially two products in one. Easy to care for, easy to clean and easy to use.

I find that it soaks up a lot of my foundation. I love the soft furry side for setting my under eye area.
