Q: My doorway is 36" wide. With 1 extension, it doesn't push enough to close latch ( too far from wall). With both extentions, it's too wide, even without rods. What am I doing wrong?

A: Yes the 41.5 inch measurement does include the extensions and the pressure mounts. Unfortunately, this item will not work for your needs.

A: Hello, the space between the bars is about 2.5 inches. If your cats are on the smaller side then they will be able to fit through the bars.

A: You do not need to drill into the wall and can use the pressure mount system. We do always recommend for optimal sturdiness to use the wall cups and hardware-mount the gate. The gate is good for medium to large dogs.

I needed a taller gate to be able to keep my larger dog from jumping over it. This is an easy to set up gate and you can put it together without any extra tools besides the tiny wrench it comes with - and that’s just for too quick connecting screw screws. The latch is the smooth and it seems great for what I need. I personally am not dealing with small children or feisty dogs that are pushing hard against it so in those cases, you may want something stronger than a pressure gate, but for my needs, it’s perfect.

Literally the worst gate ever. I purchased one and the latch to open it broke within 2 months. I contacted the company and they said they had “improved” that piece, assuming it must’ve been a common issue. We got our replacement, and it broke again. 2 gates in less than a year, same issue. Don’t waste your money.

We got this and it worked for our bi level home. But the welding on it broke. We got another one and that one broke the same way. The 2nd one broke and my daughter slid down the stairs on it. 2 broken in less than a year not worth it.

Really nice, sturdy gates. I got the tall gates, so my kids wouldn’t trying jumping them. Fast and easy to install. The door opens both ways, which is a huge plus. The door is a bit narrow, but overall they are well worth the purchase. Thumbs up!

Perfect hate, this is the 2nd one we have bought because the 1st one worked out so well. Only complaint is that it’s kind of difficult to put up initially, you have to play with all of the pieces to figure out what fits your stairway best. But a great gate once it’s up.

I wouldn’t recommend this product. The welding didn’t last and the door broke off. Spend your money on a different brand. The company only has a 90 limited warranty.

We got this to keep the cats from banging on our door to wake us up each morning. Thankfully the extra height keeps even our most nimble little cat from jumping over it. We had that issue with the old one. It's also much easier to open and close than some gates I've seen at friend's houses.
