Q: At full width, how much of a gap is there between the outer bars and the wall? Worried my puppy could slip through at the sides. (It'll be in a 39" opening.)

A: There should be no more than 2.5" gap between the bars and the wall.

A: Hello, To prevent the gate from being pushed over we would recommend following the manufacturer’s instructions on installing the wall cups.

Q: How wide are the spaces between the vertical bars? We would like it if our small cat could walk through between the bars while our larger dog would be kept out.

A: It varies on how wide the space is you are mounting the gate. You twist a knob on each bracket to tighten/loosen. I’ve blocked a door that was 35 inches wide and one that was 40 inches wide. However the closer you get to the max width (41.5 inches) the more wobbly the brackets are

We it to keep my 1 year old granddaughter out of the kitchen and the dogs locked in the kitchen away from my granddaughter, works great for both? The dirt portion will spray not to fit but if you read the directions it states it's supposed to be this way, keep turning the adjustable part to tighten to the wall and the gap disappears. I wouldn't miss it on stairs though, I will buy a permanent gate that screws deep in the wall for stairs. (I have 8 kids, 2 grandchildren, and stairs and have owned many gates, lol).

I bought two of these gates to keep our bunnies out of the livingroom where all of the expensive, important spicy hay is located. Four of our bunnies don’t even try to get through it. Our chunkiest chunkster can walk right through the bars. 🤣 We purchased some pet-proof screen and tacked it on the gate and now it’s perfect! If you’re a bunny family … you’ve been warned.

Works great as a “permanent” baby gate, it’s easy to assemble and doesn’t require screwing into the door frame. The door became loose after some use and the latch wouldn’t stay locked, but it worked again after tightening it back up. It helps that it looks nice also

This baby gate wasn't the right one for us. Due to our stair configuration, it has to be on the first stair to work properly (thats kinda our fault for not thinking of that beforehand) but its also not practical. The gap to walk through is quite skinny and was difficult to do holding a child thats only going to grow bigger and was annoying to try to fit a laundry basket through / up and over. It did stay up and the latch was easy to use.

It opened at the top of the stairs as my baby leaned into it, go with another gate. I have another Regalo type of gate and never had an issue, bought this one and we all got shocked at how easily the door clip snapped. Thankfully she didn’t fall cause she grabbed the door and dangled from it as it opened.

It advertises 29-41.5” but it doesn’t fit every measurement in between. We bought it to span a 38” clearing and destroyed our wall when we tried to get it into the mounts, and when they didn’t fit, pulling them back out. Terrible.
