Remy Martin 1738Accord Royal is an exceptionally smooth take on Remy Martin’s signature style. Its mellow body, oaky notes of butterscotch and baked spices come from a unique process of aging eaux-de-vie in new French oak casks that were toasted using a long and soft heating process. The story starts with a royal approval: in 1738, King Louis XV granted Remy Martin the right to expand his vineyards, at a time of land scarcity. As an homage to this ultimate recognition, the house created an exceptionally oaky and smooth blend: 1738 Accord Royal. Best enjoyed neat, on the rocks or in classic cocktails.

The added complexity was a nice change. Would suggest regular VSOP for cocktail as the subtle notes that step his cognac up would not shine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a solid cognac. It is very smooth, with a nice warming vibe. The smell can be harsh, but that can be said for any alcohol. This is a drink we sip mostly on the rocks, but sometimes neat. The presentation is great. It makes a great gift.

The presentation is elite and the price is very reasonable for a quality taste and hand crafted refreshment. It warmed me up on a cold day and would also be delicious on ice or with a sugary treat.
