Q: What is the temperature can I bake with this wax paper. Can it be used above 425 f?

submitted by Andy - 4 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your inquiry regarding Reynolds® Cut-Rite® Wax Paper. If wax paper is left exposed to the heat of a conventional oven, the wax paper may char and crumble. Therefore it should not be used for lining cookie sheets or other baking pans in which some of the wax paper is exposed. Cut-Rite Wax Paper may be used as a liner in baking cakes, quick breads, muffins, or any baked food in which the batter completely covers the wax paper.

Summary of reviews

The wax paper has been a staple in many kitchens for years, praised for its versatility in food preparation, microwaving, and crafting. Guests appreciate its durability and the convenience it offers for wrapping sandwiches and covering dishes. However, recent packaging changes have raised concerns about the quality and ease of use, particularly with the cutting edge and the absence of the center roll. Despite these issues, many guests remain loyal to the brand for its consistent performance.

    New box is horrible

    1 out of 5 stars
Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
    bst - 2 months ago
The redesign of the box is beyond horrible. The little cutouts that made grabbing the paper easy are gone. The center roll around which the paper used to be wrapped is gone. The paper now rips off with a severely jagged and torn edge and the entire box collapses due a lack of the center roll. So Reynold's cheapened the box by reducing its size, eliminating the cutouts and doing away wit the center roll, AND doubled the retail price to boot. All to add a few shekels to the bottom line. There are plenty of private label brands that are far better now -and cheaper.

Great for microwaving. Crumple wax paper in your hand until it's very wrinkled, flexible and easy to smooth over whatever you want to microwave. Almost as good as beeswax cling wrap and way less polluting than plastic wrap! Great to use on counters to keep them clean when doing food prep. We use this for so many purposes.

They changed the silver cutter edge that cuts each wax paper sheet, and it doesn’t cut very well, which is annoying. Great wax paper, but please go back to the old cutter!

Dear target, if I search for “cut rite” this product should be found by the app…it is not. Otherwise, solid/classic product. Wish the roll were a little better, though. Does tear more easily than thicker parchment paper.

I've bought Cut RIte wax paper for many years from Target Within the past few years, it appears that the manufacturer made the paper thinner, so it rips very easily now And after microwaving, it leaves wax on my plates that is difficult to remove It's too bad there aren't other brands available. Whole Foods sells it, but it might be made by the same manufacturer as this one.

Has there been a change in the carton material?

I’ve always used this brand of wax paper and will continue. I’m wondering recently however, if they’ve made changes to the carton material- perhaps a thinner cardboard? The paper doesn’t tear off as cleanly as it used to because the box doesn’t seem as stiff and well constructed.

I grew up in a home that always had this waxed paper on hand. It's the same great product, but the recent packaging change had me skeptical. The box was much smaller, but the measurements of the roll were the same. Turns out they removed the cardboard inner tube to save costs. I'll really have to get used to the feeling of the roll now with less support. Product is the same quality, thankfully.
