The zipper will fail. Whether it’s the design, manufacturing or both—the rubber/plastic that the zipper is in will crack and break. The seal to keep it insulated will be completely compromised. To be fair, it lasted a couple years. I don’t suspect planned obsolescence. It’s likely the tropical sun, humidity, and heat is just too much.

My kids got me the 30can soft side. It came with a tube of lube which I used often. Unfortunately the zipper broke about 2-3 years in, rendering the cooler useless. Rather disappointing for a relatively expensive cooler.

Very handy. I usually use a lifetime hard cooler for long drives where I need to buy frozen items. But for smaller quantities ie a brisket or several racks of ribs, this and an ice pack does the trick. I find myself using it much more than I anticipated which is a good thing. Hope it lasts.

Have had 2 of these coolers and loved them until the zipper craps out. Beach Friends have same one and had same problem. They work great until they don't. Zipper always ends up coming separated from the body of the cooler rendering it useless since you can no longer close the cooler. Like it so much we bought a second one and now it has done the same thing as the first one. Wish they could get the zipper configuration right so as to prevent separation.

It does a great job keeping cool, but the zipper came off the track. Same thing happen to several friends of mine and there are several you tube videos on this problem and fixes that recommend cutting a hole to put it back on track.

This is way better than any hard sided lunchbox size cooler I’ve had, and exponentially better than a store brand soft sided lunchbox from giant outdoors stores. If you use gel ice blocks, I found that the medium Arctic Ice blocks fit the 12 can like a glove and keep things cold for about 36 hours. It is big enough for a 32oz Nalgene or HydroFlask. The only con that I can find, and it’s a purposeful design that makes it waterproof, is the zipper is impossible to unzip with one hand. I don’t think it is really a negative, but don’t plan on getting a snack out while driving with it in your passenger seat.

Bought the 40 can soft cooler in early 2020. Light use at home mostly, very few outdoor trips. The zipper started to get stuck just before the first corner from the docking position. 4 1/2 years later the seams are ripping and the zipper will no longer go past the first corner, and the zipper doesn't close and seal the two sides together. Disappointed that this happened under very light use with proper lubrication of the zipper. The OG Yeti does not make a soft cooler this size and their products are significantly more costly. At this point might just purchase a Yeti and see if the quality difference is worth the price. Hope your experience is much better and longer than mine. 1 year warranty only. Worked well when the waterproof zipper would function properly.
