This sourdough is very close to homemade in flavor and texture. Actually, probably the same!!! I like to look for one with a lighter crust as I know I will be toasting it myself and want it to still be soft. This brand, San Luis Sourdough, seems to be made with real sourdough starter which is what makes sourdough healthy. Yay! It is great for Turkey or tuna sandwiches. It tastes delicious when lightly toasted and spread with peanut or sunflower butter and strawberry or raspberry jam. It makes excellent garlic bread when spread with butter and garlic powder then broiled in the oven. This wonderful sourdough bread can last quite a while out on the counter in cool weather. In the warm summer weather, it may be best to pop it into the fridge to keep longer. I like to buy it at Target because it is convenient, fresh, and a reasonable/doable price at $4.49. Definitely recommend!

I love this bread so much! One recommendation: do not do order pick up and carefully pick out your bread in store. I’ve gotten two pick ups, one was expired and 2nd had a hole in it, otherwise, this is the best bread and good price. Great for my sensitive stomach too.

This bread comes from a small bakery in California where I grew up. Sarah Lee bought the company, and now I can find the bread in Vegas!!! Best sourdough bread you’ll ever find.
