The software we use communicates with our locks and automatically sends codes prior to checkin and deletes the codes at checkout. I have had a couple.of.locks fail, but that happens with all brands. Salty air corroded them quickly.so they need to be disassembled and repainted about every two years. I have had no problems with the locks at least 200 yards from the ocean.

I no longer have to worry about where I left the keys. I just enter the code and voila! It's open. I can even open remotely using the app when my wife forgets the code. :)

I can provide a unique code for every sitter and then get notified when they are coming and going. It really makes it so easy to manage. The batteries last a long time. My only criticism is that it's difficult to connect to wifi. Otherwise, great product!

I have other Schlage locks, one is a smart lock, but this is my first Encode. I went back to the store and opened another box and it was the same. There are a few reviews online about it, too.
