Take out four screws, pull out the old latch, put in the new one, put both keyed entry halves into position, insert the screws—which lined up PERFECTLY the first try— tighten them, and I was done! So easy! It’s SCHLAGE for me, every time now! Than you!

It didn't come with a template though but I have an alignment tool for drilling the holes anyway. But just a FYI to pick up a door lock install kit . It makes it so much easier when doing a new install. Replacement install is a piece of cake.
