Not only it helps charging your battery and automatically switch from either 6V or 12V depending on your battery, but it also maintains your battery so it does not overly charge. The LED on the charger is clear and straightforward if the battery is bad, charging in progress, or charging completed and maintainer in progress. It also flashes to indicate if the claws were plugged in the wrong terminals (red on +, black on -) because of its REVERSE HOOK-UP protection feature to protect against the damage of incorrect hooks. It is great for battery not in frequent use and left discharged seasonally or so because it will not leave the battery sulfated and will be ready to use when needed. As a female, I appreciate this product so much to save me from towing my car from dead battery, constant battery replacement, and costly mechanics over simple battery problem.

Ultimately, it’s useful and would be a good present for someone who has a battery powered vehicle. I think it would be nice to have around in the winter, especially.
