He devoted all his time and energy to his career, and he had no interest in starting a serious relationship with a woman.

He certainly would never think of looking up his childhood crush on social media so he could contact her in an effort to reconnect. Mac would never do that. He wasn't even the social media type. His sister, Katie, was, but she wouldn't do something as bold as reaching out to Morgan Lake on his behalf (and without his permission).

Or maybe she would. After all, sometimes a little family interference was necessary when love was on the line. Mac and Morgan first met nearly 20 years earlier in Nebraska. Morgan's father was the head coach at the college Mac's uncle was playing at. The two would play together on the sidelines when Mac's family came to visit. There were hints of a connection even back then, but age and distance prevented anything from developing.

Mac became a successful athlete in the NFL. Morgan had been married to another star NFL player, but he tragically passed, leaving her the single mother of a young girl.
