The advice from Selkirk’s fit professional was spot on. Love the way this paddle can play like a tennis racquet and still has good control at the net. Great service and advice for a paddle to fit my ground shots and net game on the court.

Early impressions
The Halo XL seems to me a control paddle with better than average pop. Played only three times with it!! Not quite used to the long handle yet. It has adequate power but don’t expect the ball to rocket off the paddle. Good paddle for a large range of players and the long handle allows for just a teeny bit more reach especially on drop shots.

Beginner purchase

Wife's Excaliber
This I got for my wife as an anniversary gift (best husband) to replace/upgrade from her SLK EVO 2.0 Power XL. I will relay that her favorite feature was the pink color until she played it and I am pretty sure now it's spin and pop closing in on the pink. So far, we are a Selkirk family who loves that they have a wide range of paddles that grow with our skill set. I play the Halo Pro xl and love it.

New go to paddle
High in pop and power, has a nice loud pitch on contact, I have 6 thermoformed paddles and this has more pop and power than the others, i lead up my paddles until they have the amount of power i want, i had to lead my 10mm gam to 9.2 oz to get adequate power, i had to lead my 14mm dia to 8.4 to get the power i want, i leaded my slk halo to 8.2 to get the same amount of power as the other 2, so my slk is lighter but is equal to the others in power, which leads to less fatigue and shoulder pain, i recommend this paddle

I guess it takes time.
So far I’m learning to adjust to my new paddle, I feel like my previous Holbrook paddle delivered more power but to be fair, I’ve only been using my SLK Halo for two weeks, I’m sure I’ll adjust eventually but for now I find myself going back to my older paddle. Stay tuned.

Nice paddle, no cleaning brick though
The paddle is great, got the longer handle and so far it is performing well! The only disappointment is not with the paddle, but rather if you want to clean your paddle properly you have to order & pay for a cleaning brick. For the money, that should be included!
