The perfect paddle for me - but that's personal

Only trial of multiple paddles will result in finding the individually best one. The Selkirk SLK HALO Pro Max was the sixth paddle out of seven I tried. It has the raw carbon surface that I like. It has the 16"x8" size that I like. It has the short handle that I like. It has the rather beefy grip that i like. It does exactly what I do. No surprises. Hasn't spoiled a single shot because of the paddle but it does not enhance my game either - forcing me to improve my play. To me, just perfect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Halo Pro Max delivers in so many ways: larger sweet spot, improved spin and awesome maneuverability. my drives and speed ups are more powerful and put-aways more accurate. So in love with this paddle I bought 2.

Paddle is very nice and has a good feel. Only complaint is the white grip, regripped with a black one before playing. White grips are terrible looking after playing just a few times
So far, I love it.

Played with the new paddle for the first time yesterday and love it so far. Perhaps it was the excitement of playing with a new paddle, but I felt I made shots yesterday that I had been missing. I did hit a few drives long until I got used to it.

Paddle has a nice balance of power, touch, and spin. I'm an older player with diminishing strength. The paddle can hit hard when I want to, without having to actually swing harder. Not a big deal in my younger days, but now it is.
Should have gone with the XL

Dont get me wrong, it is a decent paddle, but as I am playing more, I realize I prefer a longer handle, and probably should have gotten the XL model. I like the feel, and the spin I get, but I just find myself not able to reach a few balls I might be able to get with the XL.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Game-Changer Paddle! The Selkirk Pro has completely transformed my game. The closed-throat design is a lifesaver for players like me who keep a finger on the paddle—it feels so natural and balanced in my hand. What really sets this paddle apart is its ability to deliver incredible pop and power without sacrificing control. Whether I’m off-balance on a tricky backhand or going for a spin-heavy shot, the Selkirk Pro performs flawlessly. This paddle doesn’t rely on gimmicks or flashy extras—it’s pure, state-of-the-art craftsmanship. The spin, precision, and power it offers are unmatched, making it the perfect paddle for anyone serious about their game. It’s a workhorse that lets your skills shine, and I couldn’t be happier with it. If you’re looking for a paddle that’s all about performance and reliability, look no further. The Selkirk Pro is the real deal. Highly recommend!

A little over a week now....serve had improved. More power and spin. I feel more vibration when hitting the ball than my Halo Control paddle. Still trying to adapt to the extra pop and maintain the control. Overall so far so good.

Having played three generations of Vanguard S2 and two Halos over 5 years and currently playing a Lux control for a year I was hoping it might be a little softer. I knew going in it would be more poppy and I was going to have to make some adjustments with my 3.5 game. The 14 mm core was going to be a concern but I thought maybe this core might be a slightly softer polymer. That being said after bringing the weight up to 9.2 oz. I'm enjoying the pop and great spin surface and it's not too bad in the dink game. I would not put it in the power paddle category but good pop when blocking shots and quick wrist flicks. Not sure I will make this my go to paddle because my Lux is just magic in the soft and control game and once you put some weight on it it's no slouch with power. I can't afford to buy a new Lux every 4 months due to the spray on grit going away so I thought I'd try the Halo Pro and so far it's been great fun and might make me a more precise player even if I buy another Lux in the future.

The paddle plays very well for the intended use, very stable , but limited in the spin and power for my preference.
