Several other Intermediate players and I in the St Louis area are starting to convert over from the normally used Franklin X-40 to Selkirks Pro S1. They do seem to be reactive during play and don't crack, so far. The only thing that detracts from the S1 is the way the color appears to fade after it is used on regular court surfaces for a while. The fading affects its ability to be seen, especially for Senior players.

Extremely satisfied with the pro S1. During winter months we play outdoor in 30 degree weather and all other balls crack after a few games. The pro S1 last for weeks of intense cold outdoor play. Additionally, the ball plays better than any other on windy days. Only complaint is the bright green color fades after a game and if you're playing in a low light situation, the balls can be harder to see. In hot summer play, the balls gets a little wobbly, so we save the ball for under 50 degree weather.
