Serta Medium Cool Renew Gel Memory Foam Pillow

I just got it and like it very much so far after one night. It doesn't hurt my neck, and it's firm enough to be supportive, but it's not hard (my head is cradled nicely), and the height is just right to support my neck (I'm a petite female, and pillows tend to be too flat or too high, or just lose support during the night). It does have that memory foam smell like some reviews say, but it's not bad, and I only aired it out for a few hours without the cover. I suspect the smell will dissipate even more in time. I tried a few options, and this is the best one for me. Very comfortable. It seems cool, but that isn't the main reason I bought it. Worth a try!

This appears to be a comfortable pillow, but the smell is atrocious. I could smell it before I even opened the box.

This pillow still has a horrible chemical smell even after a week of airing out and washing the cover twice.

Worth the price. Stays cool and is absolutely comfortable. It's my absolute favorite.

This is a great pillow, it's very comfortable and i enjoy using it! It contours to me and my head. The cover is easy to take off and wash. I haven't spot cleaned the gel, but I hope it'll be easy to clean too!

The cooling aspect of the cover is a nice touch, and the firmness level feels just right for providing support without sacrificing softness. It definitely seems like a pillow that could contribute to a good night's sleep.

My husband tried this pillow first and didn’t make it through the night. He said it was hot and he didn’t like the two different sides. For him it didn’t perform as expected. I then gave it to my 10 year old. He loves it. He thought it was cooler than his normal pillows and actually really liked the option of two different options. I have no idea whether this will work for you or not. The adult hated it and the child loved it. I guess you’ll just have to try it for yourself.

So I got this pillow in the mail just before I had company coming to stay with us. Being the gracious host that I am, I decided to allow my sister-in-law use it first. I didn’t tell her anything about it but when she woke up the next day she just kept asking “Where did you get that pillow? What kind is it?” So I think that says it all. After my house guests left, I finally got a chance to try it out for myself with a fresh pillowcase. I was worried the pillowcase would affect the “cooling” capability. It did not. As a HOT sleeper I was very surprised by just how cool it actually was. There was never that desire to flip the pillow to a cool side. (Albeit, you can’t with this because the two sides are different). It legitimately feels cold when you touch it. Even my husband said “why does this feel cold?” when he was picking it up. I will say: it is a heavy pillow. But as someone who sleeps with just 1 pillow behind my head, this is perfect. As advertised!

This pillow is alright as long as you are a back sleeper. It’s much too high for side or stomach sleeping even after using for numerous weeks. The cooling feature is nice, however a pillow case renders that useless and who uses a pillow without a pillow case.

I have several cooling pillows because I sleep hot. Like, nothing on under a thin blanket all winter long in the Midwest hot. So I’ve had a few experiences with pillows like and this is not a great one. As far as the cooling effect it’s not that great. Honestly not that noticeable over a regular pillow. Something that’s odd is it has two different surfaces. One side is sheer over the foam core and the other is quilted and thicker. So even if you wanted to flip it to the cool side it becomes a completely different experience. It does sleep comfortably for me though. I like having the quilted side down and it’s a good balance of soft and supportive.

I wanted to love this pillow since it stayed so cold, but it hurt my neck to much. The coolness of it was great, but it just hurt to much. I think it might just be me personally needing a softer pillow, and not the pillow itself.

This pillow is amazing! I like a decently firm pillow but don’t really like a hard pillow. Finding a soft and firm pillow is hard. This pillow meets both requirements. It’s soft and comfortable but also firm enough that I feel like I’m sleeping on a pillow. I love this pillow!

Love this pillow. It really did keep my head cool; with my previous pillow I would wake up with a sweaty neck but I haven't had that happen with this pillow. It has great support, conforms nicely to my head and is just the right thickness to not cause my any neck pain. It has a smell when first removed from the package, but it dissipates after a couple of days. This a great pillow.

This pillow is very firm, which is important to me. Would not be easily folded, if that's what you're looking for. It is very comfortable, gel foam, and really does have a cooling, extra breathable fabric covering. I would recommend this pillow, And would buy it again. One downside however, is that the cooling waffle fabric is only on one side.

The serta cool pillow with memory foam is definitely cool to the touch andvis comfortable. When I lay on it, I feel like I'm sleeping on a cloud. I like that it feels like a solid memort foam and not chunks. I wishbit was a little firmer as I feel my head sinks too much. It stays cool enough to fall asleep as I do not like warm pillows.

This pillow is dense and moreso on the firm side. But it is comfortable, and I get a good night's sleep when using it! The memory foam material did have a fairly strong odor when I first removed it from the packaging, but within about a week the smell was no longer lingering.
