The manufacturer sends these with the small one inside the large. The only packing is Styrofoam around the big one in the box. The result was one of the wood costs being broken. I fixed it with glue and it's now unnoticeable. I plan on ordering another set. They smell like cedar and I put three battery operated pillar candles in the large and two in the small.
