I was looking for a healthier option and I found it! I usually make Tex-Mex enchilada sauce (gravy) with a lot of flour & oil so I was looking for a healthier version for a casserole. Keep in mind this is tomato based and I knew that going in and Tex-Mex enchilada sauce is NOT. So if you’re used to that kind this is NOT it. I did use a little EVOO, whole wheat flour & bone broth to make a tiny bit of gravy to mellow out the vinegar/tomato tang and it was SO GOOD! Siete brand NEVER disappoints. I highly recommend!!

Too Sweet
I love Siete brand and all the other products i've tried but this red encihlada sauce is too sweet. It tastes sweet and in my opinion does not taste like enchilada sauce. I made chicken enchilada soup that I could not eat, because it tasted too sweet. It also contains whole mustard seeds and when you make the mistake of biting into one, it's not pleasant.

So delicious!
This sauce is so delicious! I was raised on homemade Mexican food and learned to cook the food myself, so I’m used to Mexican food having a certain flavor. I decided to give this brand a shot and my family and I really enjoyed this sauce. I live that it’s a healthier alternative to other brands and I love that it has the authentic taste. Give it a try! You won’t be disappointed! I add a little bit of water to make it a little thinner but it doesn’t change the flavor at all.

I have been forgetting to write a review about this salsa. This is now my favorite enchilada, chilaquiles and just regular salsa. It's not spicy but has that burned chile flavor that blends in great. Now I'm also curious to try the other chile flavors.
