THe grounds are so finely ground that you can't do french press or put them in a coffee machince or else it might cause some back wash. Also due to the fine size of the "beans" it causes it to bubble when I have been doing pour overs. It's basically espresso ground size while advertizing for an everyday coffee bean. As well as the flavor not being as prominent as it use to be (it use to be dark roast instread of medium roast) and it being more acidic. I was excited to see the less watse packing but sad to see the quailty go down even further.

We got this because it was cheap, organic and pre-ground, but when we tried it it was very burnt tasting. Now that others mention it, it does taste like an ash tray. I tried to mask it with milk but it’s still pretty gross. We’re probably just going to throw it out. Don’t waste your money.

This used to be a delicious coffee, one of my favorites. But my most recent bag was distinctly different. It was a darker roast and coarser grind than what it has been for years. Not pleased with the new taste. I hope they change it back.

I noticed this was out of stock at my local Target and tried a different brand. So glad this came back in—I am enjoying a cup now. The flavor is so rich and does well with my add-ins (cinnamon, brown sugar, and a bit of heavy cream) or on its own.

This is the only coffee I drink. I have been drinking it for many years and nothing else compares to Sumatra from various brands including Target’s Good and Gather brand. I am extremely disappointed to see that Sumatra coffee Target brand has been permanently discontinued from my store in Hawaii. I don’t really know why and it will mean that I will be shopping in another store most of the time instead of Target.

At first I didn’t like this coffee. I made it strong and it did taste and smell like cigarettes. But I wanted to try it differently. Because it’s such a bold and strong roast and flavor I just made it regular and added ground cinnamon and it was amazing. I’m out to try all of the signature blends of Good and Gather and if you like a dark smooth taste this is your go to.
