This little sewing machine is just perfect. I've had another brand for 22 years and it was so heavy I almost couldn't carry it. This little Singer is simple to use, light to carry and just perfect for my needs.

Easy and simple to use. Great for everyday fixes. Compact and light. Even though it only has one speed, it isn't an issue. I watched the Singer and YouTube videos which were super practical. I was not able to get the free in-person sewing lesson as advertised. The designated sewing centers said that they don't, and if they did, it would be just to show you how to thread the machine. The videos showed how to use all the features perfectly, and I could review them several times.

Great basic sewing machine. Only did a test stitch so far, but was easy to set up, came with white thread bobbin already set up. Convenient and compact. Hopefully lasts over time

Keeps snagging and breaking the thread. Also keeps staining the thread somehow randomly throughout the project.

Auto threader is difficult to use but machine is worth buying

When I first opened the box, I was excited to get started but spent 2 hours trying to use the “automatic threader”. I bought this model specifically for that feature, and could not figure out how to get it to work. I watched the videos and read the manual, plus watched other YouTube tutorials—still didn’t get it. However, I was able to manually thread the needle and everything else works great, which is why I still give it 5 stars. I love the variety of stitches and styles, and the ease of use.

Wish it came with adjustable speed pedal

This is the first sewing machine I’ve ever bought. The Instructions were a little difficult to follow but I managed to get through and now I’m comfortable loading thread and the bobbin. It’s a nice little sewing machine, I like the size I didn’t want anything too big. My biggest gripe is the cheap pedal it comes with. There’s no adjustable speed, the machines either on or off. I find it to be too fast to learn how to sew. It really wouldn’t have costed singer much more to slap a potentiometer in the pedal to have adjustable speeds. Hoping to find an adjustable speed pedal that works because I like the machine otherwise.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a super small, super light, very bare-bones machine for mending. It’s a little loud, a little clunky-sounding, but it runs smoothly and does what it’s supposed to. It has almost all the features of my early-80s era Singer other than the option to choose stitch length. You can pick from a variety of needle positions, a few different zig-zag stitches, and straight stitch. There’s a tension adjuster and a reverse lever. It’s SO lightweight. Easy to hold in one hand. Even the pedal is tiny and adorable. It’s wildly easy to transport and perfect to whip out for a quick re-hemming or other mending job.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t realize having a mending machine was an option… I have always done mending or small jobs on my standard Singer. I have really enjoyed using this mending machine, it takes up less space and gets the job done! It’s super easy to use just like most Singer machines!

I’ve always had the bigger machines but found out this is perfect size for all that I usually do. It’s great for the mending but also the jobs I do around the house. Simple to thread.. rolling the bobin and so forth. Great little machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice little sewing machine. Perfect for small projects or a beginner. I'm going to get my 9 year old some little projects to work on to teach her the basics of using a sewing machine. If you're looking to doing a bigger project this will most likely not be the sewing machine for you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The singer M 1000 sewing machine is small but mighty and powerful. It's certainly not for for large tailoring jobs, but for small fixes and projects it works great! It's really nice that it's small, and doesn't take up too much space. It's not bulky at all. But it gets the job done
