Q: Two reviewer comment that these containers grow in size and make-up evaporated when traveling. Please tell me why this happened.

A: Hi air traveler - These jars are made from silicone which is a permeable material. Small molecules, like those found in alcohols, essential oils, or solvents (e.g., from salicylic acid formulations), can slowly pass through the silicone walls. This results in product evaporation, even when the lid is tightly sealed. When silicone absorbs these incompatible chemicals, its polymer structure can relax and expand, causing the jar to "grow." Over time, this can also cause permanent damage to the silicone. We recommend avoiding putting oils, alcohols, hair serums, salicylic acid, hydrogen peroxide, or any caustic, corrosive, or flammable products in these containers to avoid this issue. - Emma

I put some of my keratin hair oil in here for travel purposes because my jar is glass and too large for a plane. Overnight, both bottles absorbed the oil completely and expanded hugely. After reopening them, the caps would not even screw back on. I ended up wasting a good amount of my hair product because of this. And I had to throw away the bottles too, because they’re useless now. Don’t recommend using these for any type of liquid.

Perfect size jars for creams and lotions when you travel. I do wish that there were more in a pack, but I just ended up purchasing three packs for a total of 6 jars (using a set for my sons diaper bag so that I don’t have to purchase travel size bottles of diaper creams and lotions). They hold a good amount of product and it is easy to get the product out even when it’s not completely full.

One of them grew double in size and the liquid inside disappeared on the flight. When I got to my destination I found it empty and bigger in size… wouldn’t recommend. The product that I put in there just completely disappeared

I like the look of these & the size compared to other jars. I also liked that it wasn’t hard plastic. Don’t put foundation in these jars, though, Maybe user error on my end & I should’ve known this, but the moistures was stripped from my foundation after hours in this. My pretty, liquid foundation was a cakey mousse. I can only assume the silicon absorbs some of the moisture, but made the foundation unusable.

These worked great for traveling. I used them for my face cream and hair treatment. The were easy to clean after the trip and they were a great size for a week long getaway. It doesn’t hurt that they are also cute.

These little jars are just great. On our first trip we used them for medicine & vitamins. I love how the material is so flexible, they don’t take up any extra space. Another great feature is you can turn them completely inside out, if you chose to use them for lotions or other liquids you’d have no trouble getting them completely clean.

One jar expanded twice it's size during flight. The product inside disappeared, it didn't leak, and the jar is no longer usable.

Overall, these skincare product containers are durable and attractive products. I'm keeping one for my home beauty routine, and putting the other in my work overnight bag. The body of the containers are made out of a silicone-like material. The material is thick enough that I feel like the product won't leak out. The colors are really pretty and go perfectly with my other beauty storage products. I'm hoping they last for a long time, because I like them.

These little jars from up&up are perfect for travel. They are made of silicone so they're easy to rinse out. Each one is holds 1oz so they're great for eye cream, face cream and serums. Or, you could even put hair defrizzer and gels in them. So cute and convenient!
